I think your missing the point. Southgate like other England managers has picked two players who are unfit with the hope that they maybe fit later in the tournament. This in the past hasn't been the best idea, Keegan and Brooking didn't get any game time till the last 15 mins of a must win game and were still clearly unfit. Better to just write off players who are unfit at the time of selection.

My point with Henderson is that he probably won't play at all. He is there probably for political and leadership.

Maguire on the other hand is very2 difficult decision. How much do you trust Tyrone mings and Coady?

Pickford is England's Kepa, his achilles is flapping at crosses and pushing the ball into danger areas.

Pickford panics too like with VVD, should be on the bench for me.

I forgot to mention he has T rex arms as well like Kepa lol, to be fair he hasn't playing with our best defenders but at the same time our first choice is an unfit Maguire and John Stones.

I think Southgate plays 3 CBs could go with James, Coady, Mings until the others recover.

Mings last night fouled a player in the box stupidly and aggressively out the blue! Feel like he is a red card prone player and again not that good.

I'm going to be negative nancy again so I can jinx our way to glory just like I did with Chelsea lol.

I didn't watch that much yet surprised Dier wasn't in the squad not great though versatile and more experienced than Mings for me.

I heard somebody say this is the best group of England players we have had since we last won the world cup............yeah right.

The so called golden generation was the best, they were just mismanaged.

I think if you look throughout every team in the world, they are much weaker than they were in the 90's and 2000's. In terms of quality, I think this is the weakest era in a long time. Player fitness is a lot better than it used to be, but the quality of football is pretty average.

International football is a decent step below club football these days. Overall though, there is no way that's a good argument - the pace of the game, and the technical ability of all players on the pitch has never been better at the top level.

England 2004-06 had better individual players, playing at their utmost peak, but lacked tactical versatility.

This is potentially one of the best squads England have ever had. England have never had multiple players with the ability to dribble and run at defenders, actual playmakers, competent centre-halves and quality fullbacks, not to mention no severe squad imbalances like England's perennial searches for left-sided players and DMs. In saying that, only Mount, Henderson, Alexander-Arnold and Walker can be considered to be regulars in a side that has won anything of note.

When I see Southgate with all those players you realise he can't play them all and has to make a decision on a team with limited time.

I watched Croatia against Belgium without De Bruyne and they laboured.

I also recall watching Croatia during the last world cup when they were runners up, they look older now though they can spring a surprise.

I would expect our strongest available side to play against Croatia.

England have no chance if Mings plays because Maguire can’t.

I see Southgate has picked White to replace TAA. No doubt because he is worried about both Maguire and Mings.

In my local pub there was a sweepstake for the Euros. I've drawn Spain. Another Chelsea fan has drawn France and another has drawn Belgium. A fair chance that one of us will win first prize?

France is I think many people's favourite. It's mine anyway, and hopefully Oranje get eleminated at the first opportunity, so we'll be free from the usual sickening orange-themed muck and commercials. Honestly, it's cringe-worthy.

Come on North Macedonia, you can do it!

At times it is like that with England too though since Southgate has come in people don't expect too much.

Last time I looked France were 9/2 to win. Not bad odds. I usually watch football especially internationals at home rather than in the pub as on occasions there has been trouble between fans of rival clubs.

Scotland fans usually congregate in Trafalgar Square when their team plays England. Have been told to stay away this year due to covid. Suspect there will be a few in the Square.

No one seemed to have started a thread for the Euros.

Italy currently dominating Turkey without having scored... Very Chelsea like in that respect.

Jorginho has done some wonderful pointing so far too.

This forum is clearly marked non chelsea and I have recently discovered that there is a strict non deviation policy in place(one that you yourself endorsed with a like). This is a clear violation and I intend to point out every violation as I see fit

Jemaine Jenas remains a skid mark on commentary.

I have no idea why he continues to get work. He makes Martin Keown look charismatic.

I don't mind Keown as a commentator.

He went up a lot in my opinion when pundits were attacking Costa, he said don't know what all the fuss is about,

'I would have loved to play against him.'
