The problem is that they just keep adding more football to an already congested schedule, like the Nations League and the recently announced extended Champions League. They should both be scrapped. Ditch the international friendlies during the season too.

I would like that the World Cup stays every 4 years just like the Olympics. The rest can be taken away IMO.

Eriksen's agent has been on the phone with Dutch radio. The agent has talked to Eriksen's dad, who reports his son is stable and talking.

The fans are still there and when Finnish fans chant Christian the Danish respond with Eriksen.

What was amazing is how the Finland players immediately knew something was horribly wrong... extraordinary awareness.

Hope he recovers well. This has to be a wake up call to UEFA and other football federations. Since the pandemic, the congestion of matches has been too much, this has to stop. There’s a need to rethink, I’d stop the league cup and reduce the number of CL teams to reduce the number of games. Plus many international games can be done with. The amount of minutes many of these players have played is way too much.

I think all would be a lot easier if international friendlies and anything during the regular season is removed. And every league should have a proper winter break.

You’re right, with everything going on in the world I forgot about that farce. It’s perfectly fine for thousands of low paid locals to die to build all the stadiums in time though, don’t forget that one.

Insane to me to resume the match, even after the good news. Surely the risk of muscle injury is higher given the intensity, suddenly stop, then starting again. I cannot imagine the mental state of the two sides, either.

Looks like the show must go on, they will start playing again in 20 minutes and they will have 5 minutes break at half time.

Quite surprised by that. Maybe they have spoken to Eriksen and he has told them to play.

I think Eriksen will retire now, obviously has an underlying heart condition.

That's a possibility. Then it could be the players (or not all of them anyway) felt sort of obliged to play when perhaps they didn't want to.

That would be fine with me too. So long as we dont play it in countries like Qatar again to line the big wings pockets.

You are right. UEFA and Fifa are not fit to run the game properly.

Maybe it’s time for the big clubs to breakaway and start their own league?

Apparently Eriksen had a FaceTime convo with his teammates and asked the players to resume the match.
