Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) Sun 2nd Jan 2021 16:30 GMT

I honestly think the fact it was in the 6th second of the game made it more of a red card, it was clearly a pre-meditated "let them know you're there early" move. Incredibly dirty (not to mention dangerous), and the ref bottled it.

As for the game itself, even though it was a draw, I thought we were brilliant. Fantastic to see such fighting spirit and how much it meant to every single player, even after 2 sucker punches when we were on top. I also think it should put to bed any concerns about Tuchel losing the dressing room. Obviously it would've been nice to grab a winner, and it again highlights that we don't have players with clinical finishing abilities like Liverpool do, but having said that you won't find two better finishes than our goals! It would just be nice if we could score the simple chances as well as the spectacular 😂

Hopefully this is one of those games that you sometimes get where it sets the tone for the rest of the season, because even if we're out of the title race, there's still some big silverware to fight for.

I wouldn't be so sure that we are entirely out of the title race. We have a very "forgiving" calendar in the second part of the season playing most of the "tough" games at home (Arsenal, Spurs, Leicester, Wolves, West Ham).  To make it possible we need to beat City  in the next game and reduce deficit to 7. City looked very dodgy against Arsenal. Is there a chance that Liverpool would beat City to reduce it to 4 - absolutely yes. Is there a chance MU,Tottenham, West Ham, Wolves  could grab a point against City - i think it's possible. That deficit can be cut down to nothing provided we turned the corner and start winning all of our games.

Need to improve our home record first. Has become the Bridge of draws.

The Havertz chance at the end of the first half is the epitome of the team at the moment. All he has to do is shoot with his right foot and he has a good chance to score, but he cuts in and ruins the best part of the play. Granted the ball fell to Mount but we should be taking those opportunities. That’s the difference right there

Proper game of football yesterday with a very decent atmosphere and thank f**k the boys responded with a great comeback.

There's always a bit of needle when we play the dippers which helps to give it that edge. Game ebbed & flowed as we started stronger but wasted good chances and then Liverpool got on top and with Salah and Mane have two of the best finishers in the PL. When we went 2-0 down, those front two looked to be the difference and you feared it could end up an embarrassment as our heads dropped and the likes of Alonso and Chalobah were looking all at sea. But WHAT a spirited comeback and Kova and Kante were outstanding.

When we got back to 2-2 and the game was end to end and you couldn't help remember games from years gone by, where we came from behind to beat the dippers and there is something about coming from behind, especially against THAT LOT, that makes it all the more sweeter. Alas it wasn't to be and have to be happy with the 2-2 and very proud of them.

Would have been handy to have "Judas" on the bench to throw on around the 70th minute to grab the winner but fully back TT in his decision. Can be argued that we should have played 89+ minutes v 10 men and it was a dreadful challenge but as soon as it happened I turned to my son and said it's a forearm not and elbow and it's too early so no way will he get a red and so it turned out.

Great advert for football but I'm glad I didn't go on the match day thread as the action took place. It's too easy to make "heat of the moment" comments and I admit I was gutted at 0-2 and feared the worst but some folk need to take a look at some of those comments and should feel pretty sheepish at what they come out with!!!

The Pulisic chance right at the start comes to mind... that was proper wasteful.

Oh yeah for sure, sorry I didn’t mean it to sound like I thought we were fully out of the race (I’ve seen enough football to know it can all change in a few games - for better as well as worse!), I was just acknowledging that even outside of that we have some big things to fight for this season, which should be exciting if this game sets the tone for 2022!
