Real Madrid was always the glamour tie we seemed to miss out on in the Champions League, and just like a London bus, 2 have come along in quick succession.

We're very much in with a chance to go all the way, and Tuchel is right when he says no one will want to face us. If we beat Real and get City, the pressure will be very much on them and not us as they try to win their first Champions League.

Missing out on clashes with Madrid wasn't actually as unlikely as it seemed. Up until last year usually one of us kept going out in the RO16 (Madrid 2005-2011, us 2015-2020).

The years we both made it far (2004, 2012, 2014) we were one game away from clashing but one of us got knocked out.

I just want to add that it is not assured City even get past Athletico, that is probably the hardest tie Pep could have had. All the other teams pose a different kind of challenge whereas Simeone will employ just about every trick in the book. 

The tendency to over think may get Pep again, expect this tie to be very intriguing for the mutual. Attack vs defence to the extreme. With the added world class counter ability that Pep rarely faces when playing against deep blocks in the prem.

Only teams I would say I expect to go through are Bayern and Liverpool. I like our chances vs Madrid but feel like our side of the bracket is the most unpredictable. I'd expect Chelsea vs City but could see any variation of the 4 teams facing each other. 

This will be an interesting tie.

Real Madrid are stronger this season than last so it will be a great test for TT and the players.

Barca just thrashed them 0-4 at their home. They are not all that. If we apply ourselves properly we stand every chance to go through.

I watched El Clasico tonight and if that Real Madrid turn up we’ll put 4 or 5 past them and the only reason it won’t be higher is because our finishing isn’t very good

The only player that worries me is Karim Benzema who was missing yesterday.. he is a complete assassin.

We faced Benzema last season. We know he is an excellent goal scorer. He got the better of our defence twice last time around. One goal, one top Mendy save. 

So long as Silva is fit for both games we can manage him. Imo Silva is the best CB in thr world currently.
