April 6, 20224 yr I don't think we will win tonight though do see us winning the away leg and going through. Hope my gut intuition is wrong and we get a decent cushion for the away leg. Additionally Ancelotti's job is one the line as they got pasted by Barca so will be interestng to see how they line up.
April 6, 20224 yr The main thing we have over real is intensity, which is why I was mad tuchel played a strong team against Brentford instead of saving energy. We now play Madrid twice and Southampton in 6 days. Mendy Azpi christenen silva rudiger Alonso Kante. Jorginho Mount havertz pulisic Snake Carvahal militao alaba mends Casamerio Velverde modric kroos vinicius Bezema
April 6, 20224 yr Madrid lost to barcelona because they played a stupid formation and did a lot of experiments that didn't work. Benzema didn't play and he is playing incredibly well. Bit like us and Brentford. I am not optimistic but not that pessimistic either. Kind of feels like a 50 50 game to me. We are actually favourites but I don't think we deserve to be. 538 rates us 54% and Real 46% so a tie. I think it depends a bit on morale, as the sale drags on and the reality of the change gradually sinks in. If we turn up on the day and put in a shift and Kova and Kante are fit, and I think Kante looked like he was struggling against Brentford then we can do it alright.

All I wish is the Bridge to be rocking for 90 minutes, singing as loud as possible, and pushing our heroes towards another great victory. Big day coming up for us. Hopefully it's going to be one to remember. COME ON! 🔵 That is all on @Munkworth , his responsibility tonight to make sure the Bridge has an amazing atmosphere. 😉
April 6, 20224 yr I have bad news: so far work has kept me from going to get my gallon of ice cream, and by the looks of it, this situation may last into the evening. We're doomed!

We're doomed! I've managed to pop out and get my icecream. I haven't doubled up to make up for @Munkworth being at the Bridge, but I compensated with a big bar of chocolate and a bag of crisps. I will change into my magic match winning pants shortly, and that's really all I can do.
April 6, 20224 yr Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, or if he would have even been used, but Eden Hazard is out of this game and the return leg after having a operation. Really sad what has happened to him there.

April 6, 20224 yr Hmm can I guess TTs lineup? Let's see: Mendy Christensen Silva Rudiger James Jorginho Kovacic Alonso Mount Havertz Pulisic
April 6, 20224 yr I think Pulisic definitely needs to start! Its very quiet here for a champs league quarter, the Brentford result really has pissed people off that much!

I wondered if that was it as the Brentford thread ended up on what? 17 pages? Normally if we get hammered we make 30. Seems like I am doing most of the typing (surprise surprise) along with a few others, is weird. Though maybe is more the ownership situation and the sanctions that have caused the disinterest to spread.

Imagine how quiet it will be if we've dropped to the lowest league imaginable, with only a match against Utter Boredom United to look forward to And if Eden isn't even going to play, well....
April 6, 20224 yr Quote Though maybe is more the ownership situation and the sanctions that have caused the disinterest to spread. Yea, I think you are right! The sanctions have probably taken it out of people. There can hardly be much transfer talk etc going on either at the moment!

Yeah lack of transfer talk is a big one, or contract renewals lol Plus @coco is as quite as church mouse, so that dropped our post output by what, 25%? 😉

We were just horrible as a whole, from Mendy to the ball boy. It wasn't a case of "we should have played this or that", there was no Lukaku from start to drive @Argo (and myself) crazy (I haven't seen him in a while I think, hope he's well). Nothing to talk about besides how awful we were and hope it was just an international break blip and players thought it was December. But you're right, now we're up against the biggest champions of Europe in what should be a great game for everyone, probably all neutrals will be watching this instead of Bayern and Villarreal, so let's put up another Chelsea masterclass for all!

In all seriousness the issue with ownership and the sanctions will likely have affect some of our fans poorly, for a number of potential reasons. @Argo may be one of those affected. I know I was both mad and very sad at times in the early stages of it and found it hard to think of anything else or talk. Quick to temper too.
