World Cup Qatar 22

Featured Replies

A competent manager would surely have considered defensive [or any] continuity before now? Didn't a half-dead Thomas Vermaelen start at the Euros despite playing in Japan?

At least this World Cup will presumably be the end of Martínez as a manager at any level considered even remotely serious. One would think that someone who lead Wigan to an FA Cup win would be more likeable but here we are...

If given the chance plenty of people know the quality of Alfonso Davies.

Does his quality not lay in the penalty department?

And then Bats pops up with a goal!

That finish with the left is a clear sign that he would be a good inverted wing-back for us if we re-sign him...

Axman knew that would be saved.

Was a lot of pressure on him and he is coming back from a long term injury, sadly he bottled it.

Not so much from Batshuayi

2 for 2 Val, first the pen then this lol.

Canadian fans will rightly be proud of the first half effort against a strong opponent. At this level though you cannot waste chances like Davies and the forwards have.

Hopefully the displays continue to be good and dont end with 3 blanks like 1986.

John Herdman is a very, very good coach. He did an excellent job with the CanWNT and now with the men's side, giving Canadians a side to be proud of.

He is from Newcastle originally. Would not be surprised at all if he gets a chance in the PL.

The hobbled remnants of this 'classic' Belgium side are sapping even more credibility from the word 'generational' than Kai Havertz in a blue shirt.

Clearly they miss Lukaku...

That was a back pass not a save.

Aye I know he is the star of the team but that was a bad call to let Davies take that rather than the in form Johanthan David.

Possibly the worst penalty i have seen, at least if you whack it you have a chance.

If Herdman decides to make offensive changes Larin was in good form in the qualification, Ugbo was sometimes used as a late option as well.

Also Canada's Captain Hutchinson is like 100 years old (I think 39 really). For anyone interested. Think that means our own Silva is not the oldest player at the WC.
