They have played pretty well though TBF. Used the kind of fast, high press that gives Jorginho nightmares.

Nope. Too many negative experiences with rival teams fans anti Chelsea bias and the media's with hunt of JT for me to back the English national side again. 

I will be rooting for Brazil, so Thiago can end his international career as a world cup winner.

Felt sad watching Hazard playing like that, 4 years ago he'd take on all the defenders and still burst through on goal. Kovacic and Ziyech played well, I dare to say they were both in slow gears for Chelsea in the last couple of months.

Chelsea doesn't allow anything other than first gear lol. Club tradition. Take a world class.player & make him look average

Also forgot to mention Canada captain Atiba Hutchinson made his 100th cap against Croatia, first ever men's player to do so.

While the coach was overly bullish ahead of the game, and that apparently fired Croatia up, I do like his attitude in his post match comments.

Yes, he is often given license to roam where he sees fit as the star player of the team. Sometimes he does get put on one side specifically though or even in the middle off the forwards, more rare that one though.

Very strange to see him on the right. He is quite skillful but his best attributes is his athleticism.

Morata made a great career as being the super-sub. It was only Conte that believed that he could lead the line.

Interesting game last night with the sub plot of whether Spain could dump German out of the WC.

Well they didn't despite the mini-me players of Gavri and Pedri charging around with a terriers energy yet producing very little.

Germany's marshalled them very well giving them no time on the ball and restricted them to shots at distance from Olmo (hit cross bar) and Alba (narrow miss).

Morata made the difference, glistening like Olive Oils long lost brother he ran behind dispatched a through ball from Alba with a slick first time outside of the right foot flick to break the deadlock,

Germany did not fold in fact Morata going central opened up space for Germany to shuffle the pack on 70 min.

Fullkrug thumping home the equaliser after doubling up with Musiala inside Germany's box.

A top match which should enable Germany to get through the round if they can beat Costa Rica's likely 4-5-1.

Assuming they go through as runner up they might face Croatia who despite going behind from Alphonso Davies well taken early header showed no panic and great team work to break the Canadians. 

Croatia need to beat the Belgians to top the group and I think they might just do that.

I for one hope Germany face Croatia it could be another top match and hard to call.

 

Good game that was, you can't leave space behind for Cameroon to attack, Serbia were too cocky and threw 2 points away from playing a high line with a two goal lead.

Cameroon has a chance if they can make a huge upset and beat Brazil. It's a tough requirement but let's see, if Brazil wins over the Swiss they might not really care who is the second in that group and that also opens up Serbia's chances in case they could win over the Swiss.

Don't bank on Brazil beating the Swiss, could be a close game and i have a feeling of an upset, if it's a draw the whole group is up for grabs.

Herdman must have had his reasons, just did not quite work out sadly.
