That's the only way I can explain how so many are getting their knickers in a twist over a club that's finished above us twice in 18 years.

Aubameyang is a talented footballer but his presence at Arsenal seems to have to led to a lot of issues in the squad. I don't think he would be a good signing. We were supposedly interested in Jesus and I think he could have done well in our system. If we truly interested I am surprised we didn't look at other options in the same position. Perhaps we are still on the look out for a central forward.
July 21, 20223 yr Think Arsenal got themselves a cracking player who will be wasted at that club. We should have signed him. Would have made such a difference to our attack to have him, Sterling and Mount. Especially of we dropped to a back 4 and had either Gallagher, or Havertz if he pulls his finger out, supplying the ammunition.

Well I didn't want reveal anything prematurely forbzy, but you are not a million miles out here. Keep an eye on the football pages on Tuesday for a big surprise..... We are currently in negotiations for two "Big Name" striker signings......... Teemu Pukki and Andy Carroll. This has come from my own personal club source who is also the auntie of @LongtimerLurker highly reliable club source.

July 31, 20223 yr I am not stating he won't prove to a top signing for them, but crazy how much hype he is getting compared to Sterling who had better numbers than he did at City. I am referring to both Chelsea fans and neutral fans. It almost feels that Sterling signing has gone under the radar because there is such a huge love affair with Jesus. Hopefully works to our advantage.

It is not to say it was a guarantee. I know we have UCL footy but Jesus has played with Arteta before and has credited him a lot and there is a huge Brazilian influence there too. Also, Havertz has had a slow pre-season but it is not as if Jesus would start every game ahead of him. Jesus is Arsenal's main man and like I say I think he relishes the chance playing under Arteta.

But it is exactly like Jesus would start every game for us. Dropping Mount into midfield and playing Jesus, Sterling and Havertz is a far more potent attacking line up than anything we can muster with the rest of our dross. Jesus may have chose Arsenal but it certainly wasn't unrealistic that we could have signed him and we absolutely should have been in for him.

I get what you are saying but there are many times, where last season I thought to myself, why not try and change formation and getting a 4-2-3-1, (yes with Lukaku) up front but Tuchel continuously persisted with back 3 formation and he probably would do same again. But yeah although I get why people think we should have been in for him, I think he was sold by Arteta.

Sterling worked with Arteta too, and yet he came hee not there. We also have Silva, no bigger Brazilian legend left playing the game than him. If we made a real push I am sure Gabriel Jesus would have come here.

I am not denying he could have come here but Arsenal had a clear plan for him. We on the other hand did not. Jesus did not even score that much goals last season with all the hype he is getting. I know, sometimes he played out wide but pretty sure Havertz outscored him last season.
July 31, 20223 yr As mentioned, he slots into Arsenal’s system like a glove and is suited to them - not us, he wouldn’t be doing this here. He’ll have a good season and score a lot, he’s still not ‘elite’ but he’ll light it up there in this style attack. We need to sort ourselves out before we go into the market for a striker again.
August 13, 20223 yr Author Absolutely laughable people are still suggesting we are too good for Jesus. Out of nothing that goal.
