Gabriel Jesus

Featured Replies

Again, no f**king way. I want personalities that help the team and not players who think too much of themselves and cry all the time. Can't stand watching this player.

I think Pep was clever pumping this players tires end of the season as he knew Haaland was coming.

Avoid with all cost.

Can't believe what I'm reading.

Gabriel Jesus has scored nearly 100 goals for City in 5.5 seasons, whilst playing second fiddle the majority of it. Add the fact he is heavily involved in the build up, presses' off the ball, and is Premier League proven, yet people don't rate him? Worse than Werner??? 😂

Not really sold on him. Sometimes, I see him and he just seems lost. Also with all the chances City create, I am surprised he has not scored more goals. He seems on the periphery when I see him and personally I think if we had some of our attackers in that City team, they would be scoring more goals than they score here.

Not the best signing but not the worst IMO.

At least he's used to the EPL and won't be shocked by the speed and the physicality of it.

I’m on the same boat as you. He is exactly what we need, hell I’d rather have him over Darwin Nunez.

Players like Nunez and Werner thrive on space, I’ve seen Nunez being compared to prime Torres, who thrived on space as well.

We don’t get space at all with our play style so Jesus is exactly what we need. I can’t believe people can’t see that.

So he is magnificent and yet City nor Brazil doesn't consider him being the main man for them. City is also willing to let him go.

I have never rated him. He is moody, bloody obnoxious to see fall down and cry. He is not a leader of any kind.

Pep has lately talked highly of him. I feel he is just pumping up the price.

This story is picking up a lot of steam, surprisingly this might actually happen.

Has supposedly been offered to us as City don't want to lose him in a year for free. I still think they did so to get Arsenal moving. Pep will want to do Arteta the favour.

When a club you want to be your rival is offering YOU a player, that has to set off alarm bells. Man-City and a lot of top clubs have ‘backwards’ scouting for which they can identify players who would strengthen other teams, so as to know not to sell to them.

No alarm bells in my opinion.

- Jesus told City he wants to leave. Not the other way around.

- City either sell him now or risk losing him for much less.

- Jesus and his agent publicly stated they want to stay in the Premier League.

This was in response to reports Man-City themselves have offered him to us. With one year left on his contract, they are looking for a fee and don’t see us as a threat nor the idea of him being in our setup as an elite force against them.

We aren't going to much of a threat with Jesus In our side..   No excitement from me at all.. Boring. How old is he? Will he get better or worse at falling over/diving :0(

Man-City are not bothered about a player joining a rival, this should always set off alarms bells. I don’t care about any comparisons because City have an ‘elite’ setup within the organisation, when Madrid let go of Makalele, Zidane went on to say “it’s like buying a Ferrari and selling the engine”. I know it’s too early to expect an overhaul of the transfer strategy, scouting and general talent i.d, but I’d at least like us to be linked with the not-so-obvious lazy EA Sports Fifa manager mode transfers.

Who’s available that is both PL proven, fit for our system, and scores more goals than Jesus?

He scored 2 more goals than Broja in the Premier League this season and funnily enough they have the same market value (although mainly down to the contract status) but nonetheless. Jesus has not raised his game when it mattered the most, he’s not in the Brazil team, there is an unselfishness about him which doesn’t suit the profile of a number 9, we can blame Pep all we like but it might well be a mental block. He’s not the kind of signing to get excited about in terms of challenging and becoming a force again.

It’s just all very uninspired as far as a transfer goes.

He is only 25 which is quite young for a striker. So arguably he hasn't reached his peak yet. I could see him being the type of striker who would fit well with Tuchel's system. He has not been a regular starter for the most part at City (playing backup to the likes of Aguero), and he is probably anticipating less playing time with Haaland arriving. I can see why he wants to leave.
