This one makes more sense to me than Osimhen. Proven Premier League experience and would provide some leadership/mentoring to our younger attackers. At the very least, I would expect them to improve their skills at Ladbrokes ;).

I guess it makes more sense than Osimhen? Financially and in terms of Jackson's progression. Wit those two we'll build a team of proper sh*thousery. Offers someting compeletely different - physicality, great headers, powerful shots etc. 

But Jhon Duran also can offer that, albeit he's (obviously) much less proven in PL

Would be all in on this transfer, Toney replacing Jackson in the lineup is probably the difference between Champions League or Europa League by the end of the season.

I like Ivan Toney as a player and think he has the right mentality but let's not kid ourselves that he's some elite goal scorer.  He scored 20 goals the season before last yes, but just 12 the year before that's including penalties.  Claims that Osimhen is a one season wonder hold true of Toney.   A season ago I would have bit your hand off for Toney, but I feel a little less convinced at this moment in time.   Looks like we're going to get a new striker before the deadline who it is I don't have a preference.   Just hope it's the right one.

Osimhen is an unknown quantity outside a ropey league hence no one has coughed up for his ridiculous release clause not to mention his salary demand. Pluses for Toney are his experience, a reasonable price, and he's very strong in the air for inside forwards to feed off. One of the big things Brentford are currently missing.

That said, I'm happy enough with the current set up.

While a striker can ideally weigh in with goals, their link up play and presence should not be underestimated. This is an area where Toney can really help in my opinion.

Osimhen's goal scoring isn't even impressive, its just the frequency of shots. Osimhen is the most dog sh*t player i've seen touted for such money, i'd honestly rather watch Lukaku lead the line for us.

He links up play and carries the ball much better than those two. Wouldn’t mind a more physical and clinical profile to compete with him, though

Can't agree, while link up play is one of Jackson's strongest attributes it isn't better than Osimhen or Toney's imo.

None of the usual reliable journos have picked this up so wonder if its got any real legs

Waiting for someone to tell me how many of Toney's non-penalty goals have been "meaningful" so we can compare him properly to Jackson .... 🙂

I might have to disagree with you there. I don’t really know enough about Osimhen but Toney’s all round game is fantastic, probably on par with Jackson if not better.

Thinking about it, I think Toney would take the team to the next level immediately while Osimhen might take a year to settle.

I’d be very happy with either tbh, slight preference towards Toney.

Smacks of "let's talk to Toney, tell a journo we don't like, and make Osimhens camp be more flexible"

Well if you've got an opinion so different to mine there's zero point in trying to find a middle ground. Jackson is absolutely nowhere near the level of either of them so if you think he's better and the other 2 are rubbish we're never gonna agree 😂
