April 4, 20242 yr One assist, zero goals in his last seven games. Relevant info, or just one of those blips?

That's never the full picture with Toney though is it? He's not a "hang around the box and wait for the ball" centre forward. He is all action. Plays all along the front line and often drops deep to collect the ball, as Harry Kane does so well. He is their focal point. Most of the attacking moves go to, or through, him. When the ball is played up to him, it usually sticks. Others feed off him. He is very good in the air. He doesn't shirk the defensive side of the game. Do I need to go on? Probably all academic anyway. He looks Arsenal bound in the summer.
April 9, 20242 yr Better player than Jackson, no doubt. No one should take PK away from Palmer, so expect Toney's goals to go down. Will the owners break the pattern and spend big on a player on him? Don't think so.

Maybe he'd score more goals here but then again maybe not.

Just boils my piss that we didn't get him for the paltry fee of £20m last summer. Could have bought him instead of Deivid Washington or one of the other countless teenagers we purchased.

Very true, and I myself would probably not have been overwhelmed with positivity, but once the dust had settled I'd have gotten behind him and given him a chance. No idea if he would actually make the step up to the Prem but people seem keen! Never seen the c**t play so can't really have too much of an opinion.
April 9, 20242 yr Precisely why Clearlake are so hellbent on owning a stake at Sporting. Have these type of players develop before the step up. Given the Premier League have turned a blind eye on the Savio to City deal and fair market value, we should be all over this. Could of got Gyökeres for half of what Sporting are asking.

If what you say is true, why would a world class striker want to join and average club like us. Toney, Sesko, Boniface, Guirassy, these may well be the players we are shopping for now. Even Gyokeres may be too expensive for us now.
April 11, 20242 yr every time we spend big money on a player, they dissapoint. if we signed osimen, i am absolutely convinced he'd flop.
