Ivan Toney

Hopefully Broja will get a few chances to show what he can do in the next month or so. If he can stay fit and find some form, we may decide to hold off on a new striker in January. Who knows though?

Jackson will probably be off to the African nations soon so he should get more opportunities

If you play Borja week in week out, he will go back to treatment for room very soon.

Broja, Bob, Broja! He's not related to the Borgias!

To be fair, he could pass for Lucrezia on one of her bad hair days.

The more I think about it the more Toney looks like a reasonable choice. Having had a season off will help his body no end. His record is plenty good enough. He is big and strong. You watch a YouTube of his goals and leaving aside the penalties they mostly look like simple things. Just being in the right place at the right time. But as we know so few strikers can actually do that. He may not be Harry Kane but he would help this Chelsea squad. Not sure about his pace though.

Let's see if the owners are willing to spend on quality but without the potential of re-sale. If he gives 20 goals a season for 3-4 years, I say it's money well spent. Given we have been creating chances, it's not a lot to ask for a good striker.

- Premier League proven

- Focal point with his hold up play.

- Immediate impact.

- Will get 4-5 good years out of him with enough time for Jackson to take over.

- Won't go to AFCON with Jackson.

Only issue is the price and his baggage. Addicts don't stop being addicts.

People disregard how a player is as a person but look at what happen at Man United, they don't care about their own club and the standard there has fallen, Matic came out and said that a few players including Pogba and Sancho were always late for training, so much so that they took payments for every time they were late and in no time they collected thousands of pounds, how people are makes the club culture.

Do you really want a player that has violated the rules 200+ times? That's worse than any problems in the head that you can get with Anelka or Lukaku. It doesn't matter that Toney can score a goal in the penalty box, so can Tammy Abraham.

Surely his personality is what is the deal-breaker here, it's like wanting Mutu but on steroids, or Neymar but fully knowing that at some parts of the year he'll just be injured in order to go back to his country to celebrate his sister's birthday.

Not the kind I want anywhere near our young squad.

If you strip out his penalties, he's basically a goal every three games striker in his two best PL seasons ... hence I'd much rather persist with Jackson and Broja !

If you strip out penalties, Jorginho becomes even more of a non-entity!!!!

Only Kane and Halaand out-scored him in the EPL last season. Wonder how they would do at Brentford?

I also feel like he would bring some experience and leadership to the team. Something that is currently lacking in a massive way.

Other than a decent pay packet, there isn't much else to turn his head!

Even if he did come he would just turn on to Chris Sutton regen with Lukakus attitude.

Even players like Enzo and Caicedo look hopeless under Poch.

Don't see how - he's got 2 Prem seasons with Brentford and the rest of his career was kicking around the Championship and below. He'll never have experienced anything like the pressure of playing for Chelsea in the situation we're currently in, and he'll have the added expectation of scoring goals and leading the team off the back of 8 months out? 🤨
