I don't think much of Potter's effort.

I have high hopes, tired of the same merry go round of these "elite" mangers that get sacked time and time again and are considered "world class" bout time a big club have an opportunity to some one like potter. I for one are sick to the back teeth of the same old throw away Chelsea.

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on that video. The club did that with Potter. In Sweden. I am not sure he will do something like that in Chelsea. Remains to be seen I guess.

I kinda hope he does, might make some of these players realise they are human and bring them back down to earth a little bit.

They just need to be around Kante. That is it.

I find it interesting that the media reception to Potter is more positive than when Tuchel came. It took Tuchel wining the UCL and beating Man City three times before pundits began taking him seriously despite his resumé. I remember Ferdinand and co all having doubts about him when he came in. On the other hand, Potter hasn't won anything and people are already touting him as the 'chosen one' for Chelsea.

He's being overhyped through the roof because he's English. Chances are if we're floundering in the Europa League spots the media will protect him at every corner as well. Can't wait

Whoa! Why because he's ENGLISH? Back that up with some evidence please.

Evidence of English players/managers being protected/overrated? Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford, Gareth Southgate and Steve Bruce off the top of my head.

The same also applies to former club legends regardless of nationality, like Ole at Man United

What a load of old bollocks. Was Sarri overrated when we brought him to Chelsea?

Sarri nearly broke Juventus's ten year dominance of Serie A on 1/10th of their budget, whilst playing some of the most beautiful football in Europe. Wasn't overrated at all when we brought him.

For the record I love it when top English youngsters come through at Chelsea, my point it Potter is seemingly being overhyped by the media at least somewhat because of his nationality. He's only two years younger than Tuchel yet hasn't achieved anything close.

Obviously I hope Potter is a success here, and I do think he is a very decent manager, just doesn't feel like someone worth sacking Tuchel over.

NEARLY. NEARLY. Can you please list the cups and titles Sarri won before he came to Chelsea. The most beautiful football in Europe!! Do me a lemon mate. Bit of an exaggeration isn't it? In Serie f**king A. Where players have more time on the ball than Tiger Woods has lining up a putt! Where Danny Welbeck and Harry McGuire would probably look like football Gods!

It isn't Potter's fault that Tuchel was sacked. And Potter being English is probably more of a burden than a blessing because of fans like you who think all English managers are sh*te, simply because they're English.

I feel some of the negative reaction to Potter is sounding a bit like an excessive sense of entitlement. Almost as if we expect,  and should never expect anything less than a massive name with a CV more impressive than Britt Ekland's cleavage.

I'm glad we went for Potter rather than Zidane or Pochetino. Fully accept it might not prove to be a good appointment but I see it as no more of a gamble than either the other two I mentioned.

So what's the list of cups and titles Potter's won then? The Swedish second division?

I don't think Potter's unqualified for the Chelsea job becuase he's English. I'm saying it because his current list of accomplishments in English football are finishing 10th in the Championship with a recently relegated Swansea, then finishing 15th, 16th and 9th with Brighton. Hardly a stunning resume is it.

It's more becuase we've sacked a world class manager for an unproven one. Nobody had anything against Lampard coming here when the job was vacant (though he is a club legend to be fair).

But like Sarri Potter comes with a reputation of getting players at small clubs, on small budgets and playing attractive football, but I won't claim it to be the be the most beautiful in Europe!

Bit of a contradiction don't you think?

The Lampard one, for the reasons you state, is a massive exception.

Tuchel has a fine CV, no doubt about it. But things were going wrong and new owners are never  interested in history. They are looking at the here and now and making a call on whether it seems a good idea to keep him. Given how poorly we have played all season, and second half of last season, and given a number of  players seem to have given up playing for him, and given he almost seemed  to publicly admit he doesn't know how to fix it it is hardly a surprise the owners decided to act.

I'm not saying it's necessarily fair he should take the blame for certain players effort, attitude or performances but we all know football. Players don't get sacked, managers do.

I think Sarri's football at Chelsea overshadowed how good his Napoli side were. At the time Napoli were playing some of the most attractive football in Europe. That was the general consensus in the footballing world as well. Most people, including myself didn't see him as an upgrade on Conte though.

Even in Potter's best season at Brighton they were 15th in the league in goals scored. People were complaining about Tuchel not being attacking enough, how is this guy going to be any better.

Not to mention it's a completely different story playing attractive football with Brighton compared to playing attractive football against a 10 man bus week in week out in a 60 game season like Tuchel had to deal with. I hope Potter can pull it oof but I have my doubts
