And he had us top of the league in December with a gap to second place until an unprecedented injury crisis hit.

Fact check - we were top on Nov 30th with a 1 point gap. On December 5th we were 3rd and then gave up the title fight. Mendy was a big reason we were top, he went to AFCON and wasn’t the same on his return which contributed to the decline as much as injuries.

To be in a title fight we must be capable of beating supposedly lesser teams with 3-4 players out. Next season Mendy and Koulibaly will be at AFCON and we need to be able to get through that month with 1 or 2 injuries.

I don't understand, we did qualify for CL though so there is a result?

We qualified because we got a good start and because Mendy was good during that start. In the final 28 games of last season we were 5th. In the last 15 league games we are 8th in the form table. Consistent CL qualification is a result. 2015-16 again is not.

Win is a win. The trend in football created by Barcelona, City and Liverpool is players and fans wanting the games end 6-0 or 4-3 rather than the nineties when Italian teams mastered 1-0 or 2-0 wins.

We are one of the biggest clubs so of we are to grow we need to show a brand of football people want.

The problem with those 90’s Italian teams is that they were all doing the same thing and none really stood out. City and Liverpool stand out because they have raised the bar to scoring 90+ goals in a season and we have to get there now.

Stupidest argument i've heard.

"Oh we only got there because of our great start so it doesn't count"

I've seen some lows trying to discredit Tuchel but that one is up there.

Tuchel got CL qualification 100% of the time. Once from a sh*t starting point and once when we were ravaged by injuries.

Klopp should be thankful he's at Liverpool. Our stupid fanbase would have sacked him four or five times over by now if he had been at this club.

I assume the point was the form of the last 30 games. We were very lucky to qualify and finish top 4 in both of the last seasons, relying on results of others to secure our position

i have faith in Potter to be succesful

what i don't understand is why we have to pay him 12 million a year

he wouldn't have joined for 8 million?

I'm assuming that his multiple roles at the club besides coaching is the reason ?

Welp. Good luck to you then Potter.

That is mens player of the season award in his hands. Even though people might not rate him he is a top player. Potter never coached a better player than Jorginho.

Still doesn’t refute the fact his physical/defensive limitations are an utter liability and a player we should’ve upgraded on ages ago.

but he isn't a defensive midfielder!

Been watching a bit of Brighton highlights in the last 24 hours and as well as looking forward to what Potter can do with our team I’ve noticed that his goalkeeper plays an active part in ball retention.

Mendy should be worried, very worried.

I am partial to taking the piss out of his finger wagging, but that seems to be limited nowadays.
