Say what you want about Mourinho but atleast you'd never see him manage a demotivated team that's sliding down the table at the speed of light.

When we lost 4-0 to United under Lampard, I was actually very impressed despite the result. We battered them away from home with a team full of kids, the result didn't match the performance. A lot of games under Lampard we actually saw a lot of promise, but defensively we were the worst it's ever been for a long time at Chelsea FC. So in the long term it was just never going to work.

Right now I'm not seeing anything, I can't for the life of me even see what we're trying to do. I agree with playing the 4 at the back, but we're still not even trying to change the ugly parts of our game, holding onto the ball, and constant sideways passing. And now we can't even play possession football well, at least before we could actually dominate possession and teams would usually knick a goal while we missed 10 chances. Now we aren't creating chances and we keep losing the ball.

I don't put any stock into this "he's got two games" thing, he's already had three important games to decide his job after terrible form, lost all three of them and still hasn't been sacked. That would've been an optimal time for a quick managerial change and potential bounce. It's gone now, so he's staying, it's as simple as that. It doesn't matter if we lose our next two games, he's going to see the season out like it or not.

I just hope there's some clause in the contract somewhere that it's easier to sack him in the summer. Because I still refuse to believe he's on that sort of contract, there's no way the board would be that stupid.

Todd and the board must know now that this season is in ruins.

If the owners don't care about results as long as we are a PL club, then why did we spend record amounts on transfers ?

Or are they convinced by Potter's explanations and reasoning during meetings with him about why this isn't working yet ?.

All I want to see is football with pace , effort and that thing called " goals" . With the talent out there it beggars belief that we are still playing the boring stuff that has plagued us for far too long.

Could only happen to us.

Come on you BLUES!

Apparently Boehly is the one backing potter (which isn’t a surprise since he hired him) but other people in the board want him out so it’s a mixed boardroom atm.

The only person with no footballing experience wanrs Potter in? What a surprise 😂

I'm not sure any of the board have any football experience? Maybe the property developer on the board has something else on his mind , ?

f**k me, is there anyone at our club who knows anything other than baseball?

I've pinned all my hopes on Vivell 🙏

Quite amusing that Boehly hires all these football people for the "Sporting Department" (Vivell, Winstanley, Stewart) and then completely ignores their advice 🙂

This is all conjecture at the moment but if true it's more than obvious Boehly is saving face.

Yes I agree - nothing confirmed ... lot's of people fabricating stories and making 1+1=3.

Gives us something to talk about though I suppose 🙂

The last two weeks have made me realise how dull one match a week is going to be next season ... !

So all the football people leaning towards Potter out, only to find the owner and his crew against the idea. What's the point of hiring all those football people then? Just do your own transfers, pick 11 players to play 442, and yell at them in the zoom meeting pre-game and HT, results will come in 5 years time, easy!

Potter doesn't work in isolation.

Aren't all those " football people" part of what's going on too ?

I really have no idea what's happening really, but Potter seemed not to be working with   others on the coaching bench on Saturday . Cut quite a lonely and isolated figure on the sidelines.

But football management must be one of the few jobs that gives a lottery payout for being dismissed.

What a palaver!

We lost to Southampton away after being a goal in front as well.

And the the team we are playing Saturday thrashed us 3-0 away.

Both under the German Genius!😝😝😝

I loved Tuchel, but it’s this constant rewriting of the history that drives me nuts. We were, in this same forum, discussing whether we should give Tuchel more time or not. The last straw was the loss to Leeds (f**king annoying to drive all the way up there to see such a dire performance) and the disgraceful performance against Zagreb. But now it’s like we’ve forgotten how dire our football had gotten under Tuchel for the last part of the last season (again, watching Arsenal trashing us at the Bridge was f**king annoying) and beginning of this season. We’re rubbish under a Potter, but let’s not pretend that we were brilliant under Tuchel for the last few months, because we were not.

Also, I’d recommend those constantly whining about Tuchel to get over it and look for the future (as I was told when Lamps was sacked).

Tactical master class lose to Leeds get Potter sacked 😭🤣 and then win vs Dortmund with Enrique or Poch. Jokes aside seriously though it's a weird situation to be in, we never want to lose games but losing two more could be the end for Potter. However, what if we do win and Potter gets more time only for us to need to sack him further down the line. Seems like a really bad spot we're in.

The Todd Boehly telling Tuchel to play 4-4-3 rumours are becoming more and more likely 😂

It's painful to even think about it as I want to win every game especially against dirty Leeds.

But if I knew for certain Potter would get sacked if he lost and we'd have a new manager for the Dortmund game and thus a better chance of actually salvaging the season I think I'd be fairly happy at the end of the game against Leeds.

Think a lot of people are scared of an Ole situation (obviously Potter isn't as good a manager as Ole is) were he's on the verge of the sack but wins the odd game to keep his job despite it being clear he isn't the man to take the team forward and will never win trophies and we sort of limp on for 18 months or so.

Every manager gets the sack 'further down the line', we won't be in a bad spot if we start winning, you can't lose, you'll either see Potter get sacked soon, or we will start winning and scoring again.

I remember fans around me getting annoyed when we were thrashing Villa ( I think ) with Rafa as manager .

They desperately wanted him gone and wanted the team to implode .
