April 28, 20251 yr Mikel said Chelsea is Osimhen’s preferred destination and we already did all of the hard work on transfer last year, there was only one small thing that broke down the transfer and it’s an easy fix. To sign him, all we have to do is pick up the phone.I’m not sure how Mikel knows so much or he’s just making up sh*te.

Someone on twitter gathered all of last summer's reports and apparently the most we offered him was £130kpw. His current contract with Napoli exceeds £200kpw, so that is where I am guessing is the "small thing" that broke down. You'd assume with Champions League football our owners wouldn't hesitate to match that.

We can probably save £60m and 150k a week just signing Piatek.

May 13, 20251 yr I have big reservations about Osimhen - certainly at the price and wages spoken about....but no doubt he would be an upgrade on Jackson. So if it is Osimhen or bust, then go for it. Would prefer Gyokeres though. Edited May 13, 20251 yr by nonotnowjim

May 16, 20251 yr Such a lack of quality no 9’s. Not sure about his temperament tbh but if £40m is right. Give him a signing on fee to keep his wages within the structure and sign him up. We need a top quality no 9. We happily spend 100’s of millions on players who will never touch our first team but are f**king about with arguably the most important position on the pitch. The goal scorer. At £40m it can’t go any worse than some of our other centre forward failures. That’s still less than what we paid for Torres over 10 yrs ago.
May 16, 20251 yr Why can't we just take him on a one year loan with Napoli paying half his wages like Italian clubs love to do with us. If Gala can do it, why can't we?
May 16, 20251 yr PLEASE BE TRUEFootball Talk | Premier League N...Chelsea backed to imminently complete Victor Osimhen purc...Chelsea are reportedly the frontrunners to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli in the summer with a deal expected to be only a matter of time.

If he believes he'll score 25+ goals he'll be a very rich man, sadly he's greedy and wants a base salary of 400k a week before tax.

Never heard of a footballer taking a paycut in his prime, and it’s one thing taking a paycut to play for a Barca/Madrid. We are not talking a 10-20% paycut here, we are talking a 60% pay cut. Should his wage demands even drop by 40%, there will be a long queue of teams with us at the back.

No different from Sancho having to take a lower salary if he wants out of Utd. He's the one that wants to move clubs, and no one is paying £400k a week for a striker that's never played in a top league and only two elite goal scoring seasons under his belt at 27. Our contracts are incentive based. If he was as good as he clearly thinks he is, he'd make the money he deserves with the goals he scores for the club.
