August 30, 20241 yr Good, I don’t think he was that good and I’m content to go into the season with Jackson, Guiu, and Nkunku, Felix when needed. There are no strikers with real quality at the moment in the market, so just wait for the perfect one for us.

I am just not convinced form what i have previously read and seen that his gambling addiction is behind him. WE have enough negativity and mockery form the press without adding fuel to the fire.

August 30, 20241 yr Let’s face it, this ownership has dragged us so low that we’re no longer an attractive proposition. I bet Osimhen would go to PSG or Real Madrid if they offered him the same terms we did. But given the choice between a team playing in the Conference League and not likely to be anywhere near competitive for years to come, and earning an absolute fortune in a league without recognition, he looks like he’s chosen the latter. This is what we’ve become in a couple of years under Clearlake.

Do you want his type to be that. I don't know the man well but his gambling ban tells you something.

Until we are one the best sides in Prem and constantly in UCL we are a what we are. The name carries a lot but it takes you that far.

Holding past misdemeanors or errors of judgement people have made against them for the rest of their lives is something that most of us get sent on to online courses about. If he has overcome and moved on then fine. If he is still addicted and does not have control of this then that is something else.

August 30, 20241 yr So to sum up. Said Saudi club has announced deals for Toney and Osimhen. But so far Osimhen hasn’t agreed. They can’t be signing both surely?

This is what we’ve become in a couple of years under Clearlake. We are still the most attractive London club, and we can still sign great players. We just aren't bending over backwards for them like we did in the early days of our new ownership i.e. Sterling, Aubameyang, Koulibaly.

August 30, 20241 yr So it seems we didn’t get the preferred striker in, which is fine. It happens. What I’m most worried about, is that we’ll panic and do something stupid at a bloated price. If we cant get who we want, just keep the powder dry for january or next summer. Please
August 30, 20241 yr Its so obvious that we get neither and launch a £40m bid for Duran from Villa at about 5 oclock

But the players you mention weren’t signed at the peak of their careers and were costly mistakes. Osimhen is in a different category. Also, there’s a case that Arsenal are a more attractive proposition than us, right now. I’m not saying that great players won’t come here. But we’re a harder sell these days as we’re clearly in a weaker place.
