Andrey Santos Signs for Chelsea

Has Santos dropped off a cliff? Rosenior was singing his praises not that long ago.

Would we really prefer the James experiment in midfield over playing him? I appreciate Lavia is back as well, but Santos for me should be playing.

Very odd I agree. He went from being one of the first names on the team sheet to being in the B team within a week. He should have started yesterday.

Todays headline, Talentless Argentinian to stay, actual talent to be sold.

Manchester United will face competition for Chelsea's 21-year-old Brazil midfielder Andrey Santos with West Ham and outfit Juventus both interested in the player. (CaughtOffside), external

Inter Milan are also monitoring Santos' situation at Stamford Bridge and could move for him in the summer. (Calciomercato - in Italian)

Because we are under sporting directors where young players simply cannot make mistakes.

1 mistake from Hato, Sarr, Acheampong, and Santos and they were banished to the shadow realm.

Fofana and Enzo can put in 90 minute stinkers every match week and they’ll be right back in the starting XI. Tosin, who is a net negative, still gets on the pitch every game.

There needs to be a deep dive documentary on BlueCo.

I don't think Santos has done himself any favours to warrant starting as even without his mistakes he has been all round poor, far cry from the performances we saw at the start.

Granted pretty much everyone in midfield has been poor this season but I would rather stick with Lavia and Caicedo for now.

I'm not sure there's even that much logic to the selections. Random seems more appropriate.

I think it's hard to single out any one player right now, they're all sh*t. They're all playing like they have given up. Lavia, Caicedo, what difference does it make when that midfield got spanked 3-0 by Everton?

How much we paid for the player, and how much we are paying them in salary, seems to be as much of a criteria for selection as anything else. It's certainly not "ability" or "form" LOL

Got to protect those assets unfortunately they a devaluing themselves every time they play☹️

Truthfully, this is his current level. He's still a young player, doesn't properly track his mark and oftentimes switches off in games. His run of good form coincides with playing teams further down the table.

Not like there are any good coaches around the club to fix this issue for him

I'm not really sure I see him as this holding player Rosenior seems to see him as to be honest. I don't recall him playing this way at Strasbourg but open to be corrected.

He did a bit of everything at Strasbourg in a league that, top teams aside, is pretty average.

Is Andrey moving out from Chelsea this transfer window?

I really hope not ... but these owners are without doubt scratching around for worthwhile summer sales and Andrey would definitely have suitors and a decent profit so in all likelihood ...

Hopefully not, but with us missing out of Europe he seems like an easy profit with us signing him for £12m. We'll probably sell him for £30M to Arsenal or PSG and he'll be worth £100m in a years time.

The joys of these owners.

Can he tackle? We really seem to lack players with the ability to tackle.

i'll leave 2 compilations of the two games he played, his debut against Olimpia in the Copa Sudamericana and yesterday's game where he played for 45 minutes, also in the Copa Sudamericana.

ÓTIMA ESTRÉIA DO CRIA RAMON RIQUE NO VASCO #vasco OLIMPIA

RAMON RIQUE ENTROU NO INTERVALO E MUDOU O MEIO CAMPO DO VASCO - RAMON RIQUE X AUDAX #vasco AUDAX

PS: In the game against Olimpia, he was put in the starting lineup at the last minute because the starter (who is terrible) got sick. Now everyone wants the kid as a starter, but of course, his development will be gradual; he's only 18 years old.

I follow many of Vasco da Gama's youth team games, this kid has a lot of quality, what he showed by being a starter in an important cup game at only 18 years old was magnificent.
