Quality and numbers are need.
I don't rate Sancho at all and we missed him last season; I don't rate Joao Felix and we also missed him. We gotta separate having the optimal player, in our minds, as the starter from having a balanced roster which does not run players to the ground.

Like I said before Man Utd wouldn’t sell Manoo to us for a similar price with 4 years left on his contract.

Not only did we finish 10th last season we are now strengthening the teams above.

Unless we have some serious moves up our sleeves in the remainder of the window I can’t see how we could possibly break into the top 4.

I saw very little to get excited about with him to be honest, but yes it feels like we are weakening the squad.

I think we are in need of money and no one is interested in Garnacho, Delap etc, so players who wouldn’t be top of the sell list are getting sold.

It’s the beginning of July, Alonso hasn’t even started yet, plenty more will go as they should, a large majority of the players were a disgrace last season, Xhaka bid would indicate Alonso has some say in transfers so let’s wait and see, if in the coming weeks no big moves are made then I’d start worrying but losing a 3rd choice for 50m I won’t be upset over.

Santos wasn't a disgrace though. He is one of only maybe three players in the whole squads that marks and tackle players unlike pussies like Gusto who jog to an area and try to close space.

Literally means just as much as Maresca having a say because he wanted Maignan. We all know what happened then. Palestra even before Alonso would've been a typical BlueCo signing.

I don't care if it's the start of July, they should have been moving much sooner. I wanted to see clear signs of improvement before pre-season started (which is tomorrow) and instead of seeing improvements, they have done the opposite and made us worse.

I highly doubt Alonso had any say in the sales of Cucurella and Santos, and the same will be the case with Chalobah when he is sold soon too. He has no control, them calling him a manager was just a PR stunt to get the gullible fans to cool off for a bit. They've changed nothing.

It's not about who's leaving, it's about who's staying. We sell the average players and hold on to the mediocre ones because no one would come near them.
