We have sold cucu, I think we have salary slot for Lacroix.

Santos is one of the lowest earner in the team, you are not selling him and then sign Wharton (unless you believe Wharton will be on some cheap salary)

The way blue co operate, if we want to buy high earner or give one of our player expensive salary, we have to remove another high earner.

We are not signing Wharton regardless. If we don't sell Fernandez or hoodwink some fool into buying Gusto off of us, we are aren't buying anyone of Wharton's level in transfer until at least 5 have gone out. Chalobah, Santos, Disasi, George, Jackson (if we're lucky) or Delap and then we might see a statement signing, but i am not convinced this mob are physically capable of negotiating successfully with other clubs atm.

Yes transfer money wise, but salary wise Cucu is in different bracket to Palestra.

Cucu was the high earner. He’s gone so can cover Wharton’s salary. Then sell Santos to cover Palestra’s salary.

Lacroix salary won't be cheap and more importantly you don't want to have 3 very expensive midfielder unless you are planning to start 3 of them.

This is beyond squad cost ratio. It is quite clear blue co has somekind salary structure. Everything kinda match up to some degree.

It is very typical American sports "roster-management".

I would not be surprised if the structure is based on some sort of hokey "analysis", where the squad cost is allocated to each position according to what the 'analysis' says is the most effective use of that money.

It would explain things like why they have invested comparatively little in strikers compared to wingers, or fullbacks and midfielders compared to centre-backs, since wide players and DMs tend to score disproportionately highly on modern stat analysis

His current salary is 50k a week. Cole Palmer is on 130k a week, we wouldn't stick Lacroix on more than that. We've learned from our mistakes with the likes of Fofana and Cucurella.

He was wanted by the Serie A champions to play in the CL, 100k is pretty standard for a PL team. Forest pay Milenkovic more than that.

It certainly feel that way. We have sold cucu, I believe we will sign an established CB.

I think many poster still don't understand how much pl team pay their player. This days a mid table club in pl (Palace, Fulham, Everton, west ham) has similar salary to Milan.

Wharton is an upgrade, he costs more. We will sell multiple to fund Wharton. Until we are able to do that though, we can't afford him.

I am not disputing that, my point is if he flops we are stuck with him. Teams would rather gamble on the next big thing out of Bundesliga than pay a fee for a Garnacho
