Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City

He didn't want to play for us so good riddance.

If we don't specifically replace I'm not overly bothered, I'll take the style of play and the enjoyment of watching it without him in the team weve had so far all day long.

Even with the way we've started and the excellent transfer window we've had so far (in and outs) the negativity on here is baffling, and the stubborn refusal to give the club any credit for it is just plain petty, I'm sure some on here would prefer to see us fail so they can say they we're right about blue co.

I'm looking forward to this season for the first time in a few years.. its a great feeling !!

Good riddance. Had the occasional goal in him, papering over the cracks of his overall match performance. I never doubted his passion, but that hardly ever translated into leadership. Now watch him become a star at City 😄

For once he's got a manager who can get the best out of him

...oh wait..

I think I made that very clear in my earlier post. He will help them, and their squad is big enough to keep him fresher while also demanding less of him. Their passing style should also minimize some of the deficiencies people often point out here, particularly tracking back and winning duels.

So no, I don't like City signing this "sh*tty" £125M player while we get nothing or an emergency last-minute CM rando.

Personally, I hope he stinks and weakens them instead, but that's not what I expect to happen. I have no problem separating what I hope happens from what I actually expect.

He’s a huge liability in the pivot and he’s going to take game time away from Cherki in the 10. There’s no upside of this transfer for City.

I'm enjoying the way we are playing now and happy with the appointments of Alonso and with the players we've bought. I never want Chelsea to lose, it's not what any fan should want.

If we can get back to where we were, that's good. BUT it would mean we've spent record amounts and spent 4 years to basically stand still... And we don't know if that'll happen yet.

Nah, I can't give them credit for that..

Huh? We don't even know where he's going to play or how City will use him. Saying he's a liability in Chelsea's pivot (something I don't fully agree with) therefore means he'll be a liability in City's system is the one assumption that makes no sense to me.

They're completely different systems, with different players around him. Maybe he won't work there, but we have no idea yet. His weaknesses at Chelsea don't automatically carry over unchanged to City—same way they don't to Argentina.

BBC have just reported that we have Camara for 55 million euros.

Where else is he going to play other than in the pivot or in the 10? Maybe Maresca will show his genius again and play him CB. You talk about systems, you do realise the most rigid manager in the game is their current manager who was previously our manager. Your logic might make sense if Pep was still manager.

Christmas miracle

Looks like Camara is happening, had a feeling something was gonna happen although Balagun failing his medical helped it fall into place apparently.

Now we have a younger hungrier player better suited for the role and system and Enzo out. £75-80m in the bank as well. Happy days.

You are making this 1-to-1, and that's the fundamental disagreement I have.

If City magically had Caicedo today, where exactly do you think he'd play? When was the last time you saw a Caicedo-type midfielder playing in City's midfield?

That's precisely why I'm hesitant to project Enzo's Chelsea role onto City. The whole setup is different.

Enzo is a one trick pony, he played the same system at leicester as he did Chelsea as he is at City. If they signed Caicedo, he’d play the same role he did last season under Maresca.

City are still playing Pep like atm. Much like we did when Maresca took over from poch.

It’s when Maresca starts getting his ideas across especially with Enzo playing that the wheels will come off.

In all honesty I have no idea if they will be a success at city( massive doubts but they do have a great squad) I’m just glad they are both gone from my club. Some fans an annoyed at city and yes they tapped up the snake Maresca but ultimately they have done us a massive favour if you ask me and paid us £142m in the process……I’m over the moon.

So was Pep; he employed the same positional system everywhere he went. I don't think CM pivot for us equates to pivot in that system. Anyway, I suspect we disagree on this. 😁

There's little point speculating now—we'll see what happens.

Should they really get credit for cleaning up a mess they created?

They can have some credit when we win something worth winning.

Supporting the team doesn't mean unconditionally supporting the board.
