Nicolas Jackson - striker

Featured Replies

Such an underrated player. For his first season, despite his flaws, definitely has more pros than cons. He has got into double figures, I am sure he will get to at least 15. Has provided a few assists, won a few penalties. Overall, he can be happy and defo one that can grow. Only 22 as well. Love his work ethic as well and for the fee bought, defo has been worth it.

I went to early on him and just didn't see it, glad he's proving me wrong now.

He does ease our striker search a little because he's good against a high line but against a low block we need a different profile.

As long as he never tries to score himself, he's all right.

Yet he is good at scoring when finishing a team move where he goes into the middle for a one-touch header or places a shot.

Always did like him since Ive been watching him in preseason. Very good linkup play and some of those moments with Nkunku and Chuk before the injuries is great. My only gripe with him early in the season was the terrible finishing, its like he could do most things right and then when it came to finishing it was dreadful, but even that he seems to have improved.

I still dont think he should be the starting striker when we're going for all the top honours, but as a backup/rotation option hes great, and he can only go on to improve from here given his age

Don't want to see us waste another £120m on a striker.

We just need a different profile to what Jackson offers, keeping Giroud would have been ideal really...

what if Fofana comes back and we move Jackson more out wide or rotate the pair of them? Can honestly see the hustle and bustle and pressing so needed to the side tbh...

We were in for Awonyi at Forrest before the transfer window shut. Certainly would add a different dimension to us attacking wise as he has a bit of pace and can hold the ball up. But really happy with Jackson... I'd like to see fofana given a run out with us, think the pair could work well together.

Fofana is having a good run at Burnley but its more inexperience in the squad for me.

Definitely like Jackson out wide though, got the pace to burn players and run at goal.

I'd like to see Fofana get a full season on loan in Prem and an experienced head come in for a year or two.

Not sure finances will allow. Would certainly have Fofana as a number two. Also, the forgotten man of Nkunku is yet to get meaning full minutes and he's not really integrated into the Side either. Think money, if we have any, is better spent elsewhere tbh... Anyhow, it's good he's doing it in the Prem and we get a look at him. Interestingly we had a bid in for Awonyi before deadline closed. Injury prone but leads a line really well and has a pretty good goal to mins ratio.

Always forget we even own Nkunku tbh.

Was at the game in Soldier Field. When I saw the pitch, I knew someone was getting injured.

I'd like to say we'll be injury free next season but it's been a league wide problem this year for many clubs. Just putting it down to too much football, not enough recovery times and a World Cup over xmas period plus there is all the international travel.

Fingers crossed the club works out a solution.

Another one who shouldn't be playing as many games as he does. Overall he has done alright and definitely deserves a place in the squad, but he really doesn't look like a centre forward to me. Certainly not one to lead the line on his own.

Another one on the DoFs ... it was insanity to go into the season with the options up front being Jackson, Washington and Broja.

He’s not a CF, he’s a good winger though. Very direct when he plays out there and makes things happen. It seems Poch is playing a lot of square pegs in round holes.

Oh, and I love him.

Who should he be playing up front then ?
