I have absolutely zero experience in the field and would likely make a complete hash of the job. Just heard back from Boehly - he's fast tracking me through to the next stage of the process.

I was merely pointing out that a comparison between Arteta and Potter would be far more apt given the similarities. It's also well documented what a big fan Pep Guardiola is of both Arteta and Potter. Would you like Potter back to replace Pochettino ?
March 5, 20242 yr 2 hours ago, Gonoir Beniashile said: Difference between Arteta and Poch is that Arteta was fresh from an education under Pep. (That's not to say Poch hasn't been schooled by Pep too, LOL). Whereas Poch has had over a decade in top league management with a consistent track record of losing in the key moments. Nothing we've seen at Chelsea suggests he'll evolve beyond this. For me the man to give time to was Potter - the similarities are there - a master tactician with a new approach who needs time with the group to implement his playing style and methods. Clearlake panicked and made a rash decision - something they keep doing time after time after time. Please tell me you're on a windup again

However it seems from your perspective, no matter what happens, Pochettino is completely and utterly above any and all criticism where others are not. You appear to have a pre-set agenda of support for Poch which leaves you blinkered to reality. If Poch got a full face Spurs tattoo, selected himself to play for us, ran on and belted in a hat trick of own goals to relegate us in the last match of the season, and celebrated by sh*tting on the Stamford Bridge pitch you'd probably still find a way to defend him from criticism LOL.
March 5, 20242 yr It'll be Arteta's own managerial downfall as to why Arsenal won't win the league let alone a trophy (a team built himself).

His job was made utterly impossible by the board. I don't know about you but I prefer a manager to have an actual CV of experience and some form of credibility. Not finishing midtable with Brighton a couple of times and scoring 40 goals a season. Not saying Poch has this outstanding resume but it's miles ahead of Potters. We were risking a sh*tload on Potter with no actual evidence that he's cut out for it. Alan Pardew finished 5th place with a newly promoted Newcastle and was very close to finishing in the top 4 with them, which was better than anything Potter achieved at Brighton. But I didn't see any football hipsters pining for him.
March 5, 20242 yr Poch's demise will ultimately be the same reason as Potter's. No assertion in the his football after 7 months and piss poor game management.
March 5, 20242 yr The first 60 goals this season, at the 35 games point. Almost twice the length of the equivalent Potter video LOL

I was just being silly with my post about Poch scoring a hat trick of own goals and sh*tting on the pitch. We may have different opinions but are all Chelsea fans at the end of the day.
March 5, 20242 yr My opinion on Poch can change on a weekly basis depending on how good or bad his and the teams performance is that week. The old cliche of one step forward, two steps back has really summed up our season so far. Some VERY good performances and then some atrocious ones. It has been a real mixed bag. That said, I can't see anyone else coming in and doing much better with this squad and I don't like the idea of yet another managerial change when I think we could really do with some stability. So I am still Poch in at this point but wonder those who are Poch out, who are they realistically wanting to take over (please don't say Mourinho back for a third time with JT as his assistant as I keep reading on Twitter / X - let's at least have some serious suggestions!!)
March 5, 20242 yr I'm shocked that nearly 25% of you still want him to stay, despite how sh*t we are.

Current bookies favourite is Hansi Flick. 7 trophies in 2 seasons at Bayern isn't a bad record, although he failed miserably with Germany. I know some on here don't rate him, but I really know nothing about the guy aside from his stellar recent record with Bayern Munich. Edited March 5, 20242 yr by Gonoir Beniashile

Salient point being Potter (and Bielsa for that matter) is tactically astute. I think Pep might know what he's talking about in that regard lol.

March 6, 20242 yr Utd perhaps or Italy, I think everyone can see we are in the rebuilding phase with a fan base not understanding with FFP constraints being enforced and salaries lower we will not recruit the best players. Means we need to work harder with what we got, we can't just go out and throw a £100m at a player.
