Move on. He isn't coming back. If he did Im not sure he could work with the players nor the management.

He won us the big cup as did bobby D, no one saw that coming either but probably the entire forum would agree getting rid of Di Mateo was the right thing to do... the way people still pine for tuchel around here, despite the club finishing up 19 points off City in back to back seasons. The two will be forever in Chelsea folk law so well done to them both. Wouldn't change it for all the world as both nights were great memories. Thanks for those... I then moved on.

He, like Conte, Jose, and many other managers just aren't long term managers... 2/3 seasons tops (bar Mainz 05 where he lasted 5 years) and everywhere he goes he has had fallings out with either the board or players and something happened between him and the board at Chelsea.

It's a well trodden path of new ownership sacking managers after buying clubs. I for one cant be critical of the way our new ownership is trying to set up the club, theyre making mistakes, but if they want to throw billions at a club, they get to say who runs it regardless of us fans. It was the same when Roman came in the first time, sacked Ranieri and got in Jose and a lot of Roman's early signings weren't always great... sound familiar? But at the time our new money could buy whatever it wanted as we were being run by a benefactor and we were ahead of other clubs getting state sanctioned owners. The game has changed, to compete you have to make changes as the club is doing. It will either work or fall apart and another conglomerate or nation will buy the club. Then the changes will start again. that's modern day football.

Wish Tuchel all the best in his employment as a manager, but given his problems dealing with either players or management, I dont think he's an elite coach, certainly very lucky, like bobby D, and very good at spotting opportunities and taking them.

Living in the past in football is for nostalgia only. Tonights game is all that matters, then the next one. Dont like it, dont watch, think you can do better than the clubs owners, buy the club and run it your way (or bring fans together to buy it and we can be a fan run club). Memories are great, the good and the bad like Terrys missed penalty or being hammered by united in the 90's in cup finals or the numerous league and cup success we've had. The ups and downs of following a club are what make the memories.

Good post even though I think Tuchel and conte were better than 2 season managers. Have to look forward, it is the only way.

The WORST thing you can do to a team as young as ours is create instability around them. So in typical Chelsea fashion we figure the answer to their erratic play is to consider a 4th manager in two years and getting rid of the only player who truly pushes that locker room forward because he wants at least Joelinton wages?

it’s farcical and crazy. Pochettino is great with bringing along young players. Their performances have been up and down, but when you go for an average squad age of 22 ish … that IS what you will get. Nobody better is taking the job. And it would be disaster if they did. That’s why all the pundits that hate us are pushing for it to happen.

You're not entirely wrong, we should be moving on, I've moved on.

But you can't compare what Tuchel did with RDM, under RDM you could tell we were incredibly lucky and the old guard grinded out wins. Under Tuchel we played the likes of Real Madrid and Atletico off the park and definitely deserved to win against City, created the best opportunities. For the life of me I still can't believe we beat Bayern and Barcelona. We were extremely well drilled under Tuchel and looked like an elite team until we didn't. No need to severely downplay what he did.

I think what Dans getting at is the weird resentment people have for him on here, you would think he was as bad as Rafa Benitez the way people go on. The bloke won us trophies and got us into finals like it was nothing.

But yes, we do need to move on. The Tuchel ship has sailed, just like it has with Conte and numerous others, we need to look forward not back.

Tuchel should have everyone's undying respect purely for how he conducted himself during the Abramovich sale, let alone for any successes on the pitch. He was literally the only person talking calmly, fluently and positively about what was going on at the club. Absolute silence from all the suits like Granovskaia, Buck, Laurence ... TT was basically left to front up the entire world media on his own ...

The resentment came because he replaced Lampard, which turned out to absolutely be the correct decision. Some people never gave him a chance

In, but I have said that about every manager except villas Boas and Potter

if you think we got a god given right for a trophy because of money then you might as well support a team in red

stick with one for a change ! See where it takes us.

No-one is even thinking about trophies. We just want to not be mid-table dross who get embarrassed every week and will likely face a points deduction in the near future.

I still say in as reading all the negative nappy wearing  supporters crying is more entertaining than watching Chelsea at the minute. Keep it up guys, im sure you'll get your wish to see Gallagher and poch leave. Then we can reset 12 months behind us and start all over again. Rinse and repeat. yawn...

We did win things under Tuchel yet never looked like winning the league, his football by passing around at the back in the U formation was the most frustrating football I had seen for some time. it appeared almost like boring the opposition to death to find some space to exploit.

The odd match though was excellent the way we played against Atletico Madrid in the CL was top drawer yet a lot was more like the former with the U formation.

I'm not sure on Poch either yet think with the money situation and FFP we need to be careful and while we are in the top half of the table and having success in cups it would be madness to get rid of him.

We are likely to face FFP sanctions this summer if the football media talk is correct not many managers will be interested in coming here until they know the situation is resolved.

We aren't in the top half and haven't had any success in the cups
