Yeah he’s lost the supports he had even the most die hard Poch in he’s lost them and that’s it for him I think.

I tend to agree with this but I think the fans especially the match going fans have turned against him now.

I thought this the case after the Wolves game, but then we put a few good performances together and that feeling went away.

I worry that after 120 minutes yesterday, and a pretty crushing late defeat, we could look very leggy. Leeds will surely smell blood in the water.

I voted "on the fence" 3 weeks ago and I think I'm still there (with the caveat that a small part of me always wants Mourinho back). In game management has been questionable on several occasions now, but on the flipside of that the squad is a mess and no amount of coaching can fix the glaring weaknesses we have.

No one who thinks spending £80m on a crippled young centre back who'd played 7 games in 18 months and £62m+ on a Ukranian with dozens of career games at 22 or £115m on a defensive midfielder who's Club were open to flogging him for less all summer or giving a £60m contract to a midtable manager on £2m a year at Brighton is ever making money in football.

I'm less worried about us being crap which I know we will be long term but more concerned as a club we'll go bust because our owners have a collective football IQ lower than the number of wins we have since they took over.

None of these players were big name players and most pundits had them finishing outside the top 7. I wouldn't say Spurs are flying in the league, but your point is still very valid. With this team we shouldn't be challenging to win the PL but we should certainly fighting for European places. Teams like Villa, Newcastle (though they are now crumbling down) or Spurs are good example of how you can aspire to fight for European places without big names, and we have good players, just not a coach that is properly developing them or making a team out of them.

Define top manager. Past glory or where they are going. Past glory would be none as that will not fit the model here that they have set up. They want a project manager, even though they have no idea what the project is or how to achieve it.

What I am saying is that any elite manager that has had past glory, Mourinho, Flick, Nagelsman, Tuchel. Any of these will have a developed sense of self due to their successful past, and will want to work and structure their way.. That will not work here as they will want someone to fit their model.

I picked this up from a different club fan forum,

Chelsea's average age at kick off was 23.36 years, whereas Liverpool's was 25.27 years, and even with the teenagers coming on for extra time, Chelsea's average at the final whistle was 22.64 years, with Liverpool's being 24.09.

Appearance-wise, Chelsea's starting 11 averaged 44.55 appearances for the club, whereas Liverpool's averaged 91.18, and at the final whistle it was 32.91 for Chelsea and 75.36 for Liverpool.

I get that Chelsea's squad was very expensively assembled, but given this whole thing seems to have stemmed from Neville's commentary, he of all people should know that paying a huge fee doesn't equate to output on the pitch, given United's woes over the last decade.

As a starter go onto most media outlets and gauge the view form the vast number of people as to whether a press statement inferring that we were holding out for penalties against a Liverpool team that we by then clinging on, is being deemed as acceptable.

Gary Neville is just a child who can't handle giving Liverpool any credit for anything, so his narrative and coping mechanism was that they only won because we blew it.

The best policy is to simply ignore him, and certainly not to give his inaccurate statements any oxygen by quoting him as gospel ... (as many have on here sadly ...)

 

At every stage of the match Liverpool had a minimum of 6 players aged 25+ on the pitch.
