November 29, 20241 yr He had a fair few shots to save against Heidenheim. Most saves were pretty easy but one or two were fairly tricky. Overall a very good performance. One thing stands out in comparison to Sanchez: when the ball is at his feet, the defenders aren’t shaking like a sh*tting dog.

I don't think Maresca would drop Sanchez even if he kicked the ball in to his own net 3 times. Sanchez and Madueke are his untouchables.

Sanchez must be solid playing out from the back in training because if he makes the same mistakes as he does in a game he’d surely be nowhere near starting weekend games. Maresca must believe he can do it but if he doesn’t improve from where he is now then he has to be replaced. But I’d be amazed if he doesn’t start on Sunday.

November 30, 20241 yr He needs to be given some starts in the EPL. Give him a run of games, in all competitions, as our nailed on starter. Tell him the pressure is off for 10-15 games, and see how he goes. Give him a chance to get into a run, build confidence and establish himself. This has to be a better strategy than giving him odd cup games, where he knows that if he plays badly he wont be getting into the first team, but equally, if he plays well, he still isnt getting into the first team. If Sanchez was steady/solid then there is an argument for the current strategy. But he isnt. And never has been for us.
November 30, 20241 yr Author So long as he keeps it up it just puts an even bigger magnifying glass on Sanchez and an urgency for him to perform. Sooner or later he'll get his chance.
December 4, 20241 yr From what we have seen so far is that he can do everything Sanchez can do. So if he can avoid the silly mistakes, then I see no reason why he isn't first choice.

With our first choice defence in front of him, I think we will be more solid and hopefully concede a lot less.
December 13, 20241 yr Last night showed he's much more comfortable playing out from the back than Sanchez and isn't far off his shot stopping ability. If Maresca wants to emphasize playing out from the back it makes no sense Jorgensen isn't already number one on that ability alone.

I think Jorgensen looks very accomplished playing out from the back, but let's be honest he's come under very little pressure from opposing teams. The intensity is certainly higher in the prem and I would imagine Enzo is in the process of building up Jorgensen's confidence, waiting for the right moment to give him prem games. Until Sanchez costs us a win, I don't think he'll be dropped.
December 13, 20241 yr Its a no for me. not good enough yet. Same was said of Petrovic last season. I was happy to have him between the sticks for us this seaosn but Maresca thinks differently... Let him have his fun in the europa league

December 13, 20241 yr Petrovic wasnt, is this guy better than petrovic? I dont see it. Lets turn it around, what makes him the best keeper at Stamford bridge and deserving of a shot in the starting league 11? You're not allowed to answer he's not Sanchez. 🙂

Let him have his fun in the europa league I don't think we're in a position to say if he is good enough or isn't good enough tbh given the opposition he's played against. One thing I do know though is that Sanchez is NOT good enough, which is why I'd be happy to give Jorgensen the chance.
