But very much doubt that Sanchez gets replaced after even 1 win. I’m not saying I agree with that but that how I reckon it will go.

I don't think Maresca would drop Sanchez even if he kicked the ball in to his own net 3 times.

Sanchez and Madueke are his untouchables.

Sanchez must be solid playing out from the back in training because if he makes the same mistakes as he does in a game he’d surely be nowhere near starting weekend games.

Maresca must believe he can do it but if he doesn’t improve from where he is now then he has to be replaced.
But I’d be amazed if he doesn’t start on Sunday.

He needs to be given some starts in the EPL. Give him a run of games, in all competitions, as our nailed on starter. Tell him the pressure is off for 10-15 games, and see how he goes.  Give him a chance to get into a run, build confidence and establish himself.

This has to be a better strategy than giving him odd cup games, where he knows that if he plays badly he wont be getting into the first team, but equally, if he plays well, he still isnt getting into the first team.

If Sanchez was steady/solid then there is an argument for the current strategy. But he isnt. And never has been for us.

Impressive last night. Want to see him as No. 1 sooner rather than later.

I couldn't watch the game - what did he do to be impressive?

The goal definitely didn't seem to be his fault at all but other than that I haven't been able to see his saves.

He made a few good saves but just looked so more assured and less jittery. With our first choice defence in front of him, I think we will be more solid and hopefully concede a lot less.

Last night showed he's much more comfortable playing out from the back than Sanchez and isn't far off his shot stopping ability.

If Maresca wants to emphasize playing out from the back it makes no sense Jorgensen isn't already number one on that ability alone.

I think Jorgensen looks very accomplished playing out from the back, but let's be honest he's come under very little pressure from opposing teams. The intensity is certainly higher in the prem and I would imagine Enzo is in the process of building up Jorgensen's confidence, waiting for the right moment to give him prem games.

Until Sanchez costs us a win, I don't think he'll be dropped.

Its a no for me. not good enough yet. Same was said of Petrovic last season. I was happy to have him between the sticks for us this seaosn but Maresca thinks differently...

Let him have his fun in the europa league

Arsenal 2-2 last season.

Not good enough based on what?

Petrovic wasnt, is this guy better than petrovic? I dont see it.

Lets turn it around, what makes him the best keeper at Stamford bridge and deserving of a shot in the starting league 11? You're not allowed to answer he's not Sanchez. 🙂

I don't think we're in a position to say if he is good enough or isn't good enough tbh given the opposition he's played against. One thing I do know though is that Sanchez is NOT good enough, which is why I'd be happy to give Jorgensen the chance.

Is the right answer...

He doesn't pass it directly to the opposition several times per game.

Let me rephrase. Until Sanchez costs MARESCA a win, I don't see him being dropped.

So as long as our attack keeps scoring we should be okay with throwing goals away at the other end?
