Especially how Arsenal players are acting..

You would think they just took a massive step to winning the league. They are still well behind Liverpool, got knocked out of the FA Cup and are looking for a big comeback against Newcastle in the League Cup Semi Final.

Beating Spuds isn't an achievement. We did that after giving them a 2 goal headstart 😆

they think theyve won the PL with that result, reality check you’ve beaten a poor Tottenham team and are still 4 points behind Liverpool who have a game in hand

Newcastle have won 9 games in a row in all competitions. These are levels we need to reach if want that top 4 spot. We had one decent run and have crumbled ever since. These teams feel so far ahead of us right now.

Very annoying when you look at the recent easy winnable fixtures we had to really make gains towards Liverpool....when you look at the games, the poor finishing has killed us, any chance of a top 4 spot I think is long gone now when you look how close the teams are around us.  Until we get a goalscorer we'll be mid-table or just above.

Isak is getting all the headlines, but I would say it is as much, if not more, their defence that has enabled this run.

6 clean sheets in those 9 games, and only 3 goals conceded overall.

For all the noise about Jackson missing "sitters", our defending is a far bigger problem. It basically means we are having to score at least twice to have any chance of winning a PL game.  We are a country mile away from the halcyon days of Mourinho 's first season, when we had eleven 1-0 wins and 25 clean sheets. We basically need better defenders across the whole back line, and a better partner in the pivot for Caicedo. James return, assuming this time it is prolonged (big assumption) will help, but we still look desperately short of real quality at centre back and left back. Coaching doesn't appear to make much difference, given all the issues from last year are still with us. We are admittedly conceding fewer goals than in 23/24, but that is down to Sanchez making more saves than Petrovic did.

A twist in this already brilliantly bawdy tale:

Bernabè has barricaded himself in the training ground (where he apparently lives) and has begged for forgiveness: https://metro.co.uk/2025/01/16/sacked-lazio-falconer-locks-training-ground-penis-implant-scandal-22372605/

Bernabè was previously sacked then reinstated after being filmed chanting 'duce duce' and performing a Nazi salute. The Lazio president Claudio Lotito has refused to forgive him for the Prince Albert fiasco; in response to comparisons to Bernabè's previous reinstatement, Lotito said "Perhaps the Roman salute is worse at your home but not mine". https://football-italia.net/lazio-no-forgive-falconer-worse-fascist-salute/

On a Lazio radio show (La Zanzara), Bernabé also spoke about the operation and his sex life, saying (among other things) that he is in an open relationship, so he has sex with different women and must “ejaculate at least twice a day.”

Wow, Southampton show just how bad they are, leading 1-0 until 82 mins then capitulate and lose 3-1, the 3rd goal shows why you should not pass it around in your own penalty box, Ramsdale passes it to Harwood-Bellis and runs away from his goal expecting him to pass it back to him, Unfortunately Harwood Bellis miscontrols it and Amarat nicks it off him and rolls it into an empty net

Haaland signing a 9.5 year deal, seems City are copying from the BlueCo playbook now then.

Yeah well, he's still ugly.

So pleased for this opportunity to give my go-to reply on Haaland again :yay:

I can't wait for this Pep induced ridiculous dangerous tactic to be kicked into touch.

Every week goals are given away with this stupidity. Southampton will go down primarily for using this tactic in the majority of their games.

Given we are likely to get a 5th CL spot would 7th therefore get Europa League.

Arsenal

Liverpool

City

Newcastle

Forest

Villa

We could get 7th, guess europa league is progress no?

Newcastle are an Isak injury away from collapse.

City are just as inconsistent as us.

We made Villa look like children, no way they finish above us.

Forest will be an interesting one to watch but i think they'll make CL this year.

Bournemouth all over Newcastle, deserved lead. Hall had a shockingly bad opening 10 minutes.

So many blind refs, Kluivert gets hacked down by Guimaraes it all kicks off, ref books 3 players then awards Newcastle the freekick and if it weren’t for Kepa they would have equalised

I guess the crowd is the 11th man, certainly works for Liverpool and Utd.
