Defending is more of collective effort. Offensively you can have a Hazard, give him the ball and you can attack but defense is about the whole team. 

If you allow player to have free run at your CB from the middle like the way we defend right now, your cb will suffer. 

I remember under Lamp, somes fans said that our CB were championship level, TT came in and we were the best defensive team in Europe.

Away trips to Heidenheim (roughly half way between Stuttgart and Munich), Astana (6hrs 20 minutes direct flight to Astana, capital of Kazakhstan) and Athens (nice!). 

Home to Gent, Shamrock Rovers and Noah (Armenian team) whose ground capacity is 3,300 apparently 🙂

Did not watch the match, but my expectations in terms of performance is this competition are very low. This because of how human brain works. Everybody will prioritize the domestic competitions and treat Conference League as a pre season competition because it's a 3rd rate competition and most of the opponenets are shockingly bad and can't be taken seriously.

A loss against this Swiss side and on Sunday we will put four past Palace at the Bridge.

Agreed Bob, but we are suffering from our own goal kicks and playing out from the back because of how poor and frightened these are in possession.

I really hope we do the opposite if/when we get to the knockouts.

We need the first trophy under the new ownership regardless of how and where it comes.

Not really. 

If we ignore his off the pitch stuff which I don't like, on the pitch it is OK. 

I like manager who play different build up. That is good. 

But our defense has been awful since pre season. We still have the same  long ball+2nd ball and set piece problem from last season but now our transition defense is really bad. 

Maresca need to find better balance between our player wanting to play chaos ball to score with our problem defending transition.
