Servette vs Chelsea (Conference League) Thursday 29th Aug 24, 19:30 GMT

They prevented themselves from knocking us out there because we seemed to do everything in our power to make sure they had possession. Zero full backs, invisible midfield. Even when it landed at Jackson’s feet in front of goal he seemed more shocked than a striker looking to score.

Shocking performance as was the first half of the home game. That defence is shocking, please, Maresca, do not play Disasi, Tosin, Badiashille any more, we want to win the Conference League!
Beggars belief how much these owners have spent on dross and the depth of the team is shocking. And they keep shipping the better players like Chalobah or Connor….

This 2nd string side costs more than most full Premier league squads, and is still god awful.

These sporting directors and owners have really managed to assemble the biggest load of garbage seen outside the Great Pacific

Horrendous at times that, but I think we will see plenty of performances like that when we rotate unfortunately.

1st 11 hasn't even really got to grips with how we setup, once you put in a collection of inferior players, that are even more unfamiliar with each other, then you will get a disjointed performance.

KDH and Mudryk on the left side were difficult to watch though. Not sure why we bought KDH yet, still yet to see what he offers the team. He plays so wide too, I thought he would have add some defensive qualities in transition, but when Veiga has move back into left back, KDH is high and wide leaving acres of space, and it isn't like Nkunku is getting back on the other side either. Enzo got caught a couple of time against wolves in a similar position, so maybe it is a systematic issue, that the team need to figure out.

Anyway at least I didn't pay for it, and there was a decent firework display.

They played well, looked well coached and extremely motivated to cause an upset.

Their fans were mental too, and they should get a stadium ban for that nonsense

"that nonesense" was the most exciting thing for me... I say more fireworks next time

Meh, our B team vs a side well into their season on a dreadful pitch.

The only things that mattered tonight were no injuries and making it through.

We’re in the Conference League, so they better start getting used to winning and not getting injured in some dodgy pitches.

I guess this competition is some kind of compensation for also-rans. We just need to suck it up. Pretty underwhelming over both legs. At least it’ll give our B team a run about on Thursdays.

It looks like the A team players will have to be involved in the games too!

Looking at some of the teams in this competition, if we keep playing the B team we’ve got no chance of beating Betis, Panathinaikos or Fiorentina.

Yep. Don’t think the plan is to play our strongest side in this competition. And yet our B team barely scraped past a well-drilled but lacklustre Swiss side. Maybe we’ll improve by the time of the next stage. But it only took injuries to James and Lavia and we barely held our own.

Lol right? We avoid elimination on a UCL qualifier due to getting 2 pens. We scored 1 none pen goal in over 180 minutes against Servette!
