September 22, 20241 yr Finally watched. my god is our style of football awful to watch… yes winning is nice but the progress the ball to edge of the box then pass it back 15 times before repeating is just terrible. my wife watched as much as she could (still plays women’s league) first comment was how it looks like we’re just doing passing drills all game. glad we won, and sometimes nice to have a boring day at the office
September 22, 20241 yr Simple analysis Defense Good performance overall. We played mid block that turn into low block at times. Even when Kudus can do whatever he want, It is very easy for our defender to deal with bowen (not a st) and summerville (tiny) in the box. Offense Good performance. We created chances mostly on the break and press bait. Lopete's West ham is the perfect opp to play this way. It is rare to see teams who are this unathletic in PL and still push up. @Zeta@Zeta this is why the game felt very strange. Even when our counter was not lighting quick, we got through them easily. West ham pivot and cb are slower without the ball than our player with the ball. Jackson scored from here. You expect those two player close to Jackson to cut off Jackson easily but Jackson ran unopposed 😵💫😵💫😵💫. Player wise Caicedo and Jackson were clearly the two standout performer. Caicedo was very good at covering and winning the ball, jackson had 2 goals and 1 assist. Palmer, welcome to superstar club, team will kick the $h!t of you. One interesting player is Sancho. Sancho ball retention give us a very good balance which is one of our problem lasr season
September 22, 20241 yr Great result from a fixture that has been tough for us in recent years. Off the back of the Bournemouth game we now have something to build on and it was nice to briefly see us second in the table too. Certainly some room for optimism!

For some obscure reason VAR is unable to intervene Hope it's us on next FFS. Watching it this morning and wondered the same thing! Gave me flashbacks of Martínez in the FA Cup Final (Taylor's second medal).

We countered really well and passed the ball with a lot more purpose - always looking for the forward pass. There is no doubt on our day we have the players to cause opponents a lot of issues and we now have very decent options from the bench so hopefully that overpassing just for passing sake will become a thing of the past.

That isnt what happened in the wolves game

Moyes had them reaching heights they never have in my lifetime. They wanted more, thought they were better and have become much much worse. It was mutual. Moyes wanted out.
September 22, 20241 yr https://www.westhamzone.com/news/henry-winter-stunned-by-bizarre-west-ham-united-v-chelsea-incident-as-ex-fifa-man-reacts/ pity Henry didn't bring up consistency when Palmer was hacked down in first 2 minutes compared to bookings against Bournemouth, or what about the incident in the Tottenham game yesterday, the keeper clearly handles the ball outside of his area, Brentford players quite rightly want the freekick and at least a yellow card for the keeper, yet the ref decides to book a Brentford player and the manager

September 23, 20241 yr Just boot the thing forward with more talented players and entertain us… not hard concept

September 23, 20241 yr Mike Wedderburn on SSN. "Come back after the break as we go through a weekend of controversial refereeing decisions, including why West Ham were denied a penalty against Chelsea". So Gibbs White being sent off for a supposed second booking, when winning the ball. Not the main talking point, no? Nuno being sent off, along with Fabian Hurzeler in the same game in a bust up with refs. Not the main talking point, no? Haaland throwing the ball at Gabriel's head ignored. Not the main talking point, no? Doku kicking the ball away unpunished. Not the main talking point, no? Trossard then sent off for kicking the ball away. Not the main talking point, no? No, of course not, Fofana keeping a hand on Summerville whilst he ran in the box. Yeah, that's the most criminal piece of refereeing over the weekend isn't it.
September 23, 20241 yr hidden agenda noun An undisclosed plan, especially one with an ulterior motive.
September 24, 20241 yr This screenshot kinda sum up tactical analysis of this game. This is basically a masterclass of what not to do in oop.
September 24, 20241 yr OG for their Keeper. This rule needs to change in football. Own goal is the stupidest thing in football probably after diving. Felix created the goal with brilliance and their keeper gets his name in the books. He doesn't want his name there and Felix wants his name. Idiotic rule.
