No he isnt, stop being a dick.

No rebuttal, just pure emotion.

Can you point out what exactly i'm saying that makes me a dick other than saying one player is better than another?

I don't think that is Delap problem.

Delap is big, strong, can fight CB. Technically he is not great. His link up game is really bad.

You probably want this kind of st to be more of your plan B st than your main guy.

That's true, but at the moment he IS seen as our main striker . But as long as others are scoring I don't suppose it matters too much..

I think tonight's game might be one that suits his style of play ?

I think the giveaway is your insistence on saying Jackson is a better player than Delap!

Totally distorted argument as Jackson had prime Cole Palmer making him look a lot better than he actually is. Delap has had very few minutes, but anyone who knows anything about football, can see that he actually looks like a striker (No. 9). Something that can never be said of Jackson as long as he has a hole in his bum.

Such early days but I have no doubt, Delap will be so much better for us than Jackson ever was and Jackson will end up somewhere like West Ham (if he's lucky).

And having an opinion makes me a dick how exactly?

Our team now is much better than what Jackson was working with under Poch and Maresca. Out of interest what has he done in a Chelsea shirt that makes him look like a striker? He comes on the pitch and jumps into defenders and runs around like a headless chicken.

Jackson ended up at Bayern, Delap to date looks like he would have had better luck with Ipswich in the Championship. He shouldn't be getting minutes over Guiu on recent form.

  1. Very well taken goal when he came on against Barca. Expect more of that when he plays more.

  2. Jackson may be temporarily at Bayern now, but believe me, he won't end up at a club like that!

  1. Oh come off it haha its an open goal. Jackson scored the exact same against Luton, Spurs x2 and Palace in his first season under Poch.

  2. He might not, but i'd also put money on Bayern would never pay £16m for a season of Delap.

I understand people didn't like Jackson for fair reasons and we needed to upgrade but can we not lie through our teeth and pretend that Delap is in any way an upgrade.

Most people aren't pretending he's an upgrade, they are just prepared to give him a fair cracking of the whip.

Or we can wait and see how a young player who`s barely had chance to play many minutes settles in and does, without throwing out nonsense hyperbolic statements with no basis.

Or what Andy said.....

You usually have some decent points and arguments but I’m afraid trying to convince anyone with eyesight that Jackson is a better player than Delap is a bizarre hill to die on.

Lucky for us your eyesight is terrible so should be very easy to convince.

As much as it might not seem like it now, I have no doubt whatsoever, that Delap will turn out to be a big upgrade on Jackson.

Folk will say we needed the finished article NOW, rather than yet another player with potential and I agree with that, but we have to accept, that's not how these owners operate. The squad looks a whole lot better and more balanced than last season and the absence of Jackson certainly contributes to that.

Most people on here are saying he's an upgrade.

I think its a mistake to consider whether Delap is an upgrade on Jackson, the key for me is will he be good enough to lead the line in important games and affect the outcome of said games. I think he will be given time/is being given time. Im keeping my fingers crossed.

So far, neither Pedro or Delap have set the world alight leading the line for us. Will they score more than Jackson? dont care, Were not missing Jacksons goals this year.

This time last season Jackson had scored about 9/10 goals... that was pretty much his limit for us.

Ive seen little bits and pieces with delap on the pitch to sugget he will become a very decent acquisition. I hated the arrival of Giroud - but he came and went and won things. We've missed that type of player since he left.

More than happy to see him and Guiu given minutes and games this year. Both can become very good players for us.

So you accept you're in a minority.

Fair enough.

What's wrong with minorities? Better than being a sheep.

People are reacting on emotion with their hatred of Jackson rather than looking at how shocking Delap has been.

I think it's unfair to compare Jackson/Delap given the disparity in quality both players were working with last season. Think Ipswich created the 2nd or 3rd least chances in the league whereas we topped the charts for chances and big chances created.

I always felt Delap and Jackson were similar in the manner that they liked the ball to feet. We have him playing as an out an out #9 which I don't think is Delap's game. That being said, he has a lot of fine tuning that needs to be done. His touch has been woeful along with his decision making.

The one thing nobody can argue with, (and the statistics and squiggly graph thingys will show that it's a fact), this is Jackson's best season for us so far.

Long may it continue.
