Maybe an innocent Israeli businessman by the name of Mr Abramovichberg could step in and take over the club?

Mourinho came back, Frank came back, so you never know . . . . .

We would need time travel back to say 2019, oh and while hes at it can he bring Giroud who would be approx 27 years old.

Not sure I buy that, I saw with my own eyes that Olivier Giroud was 32 years old for his entire career.

Before Haaland he had Aguero, the fourth highest overall goal scorer in the PL, upfront…

Of course, Guardiola has always had goalscorers in his team - Eto'o, Messi, Villa, Lewandowski, Aguero. But Aguero hasn't been Guardiola's main goalscorer since 2018, largely due to his injury problems. Guardiola well and truly moved away and by the time we faced them in the CL final, Sterling, De Bruyne and Gundogan were his top scorers.

The problem is most of Guardiola's mini-mes seem to originate also from this time period, and they completely forget that his success has actually been underpinned by systems that fed some of the best strikers of the last 10 years.

Not really Aguero was injured for long period of time in that season

I don't understand fans being unhappy with Delap.

Delap 22 30m,pl level st.

Garnacho 21 40m,pl level winger.

Undervalued asset, low carrying cost (Eghbali/Boehly term). This is what we do.

How about finding target to get the team to the next level ? Are you a new Chelsea fans?

That was my point. Guardiola probably moved away out of necessity but unfortunately it made his positional football nonsense even more sterile. At least at Barcelona, Messi or Sanchez were the false 9

Are we football fans or accountants? Why the f**k would someones cost and value matter to us?

You keep peddling this "this is the blueco way" nonsense like that makes it all better and we should just accept it? What on earth are you on about?

Delap barely had any time to show us his quality. Injury, suspension, etc.

Hopefully he gets a good run in the team (at least 5 games) and then he can show us what he offers.

I rate him and think he was a shrewd buy. Don’t be surprised to see him drag us through winter.

The acid test comes on league finish.

We are currently on a very similar points tally to this time last season and we have lost Jackson's goals and replaced him with two strikers who are really struggling to find the back of the net. 3 if you count Guiu. Worth noting Jackson became a huge liability to the team when Maresca implemented his system and poch ball was dropped.

Thankfully, we're finding others to score from other areas but our lack of goals upfront will cost us top 4 if it continues.

I had assumed his comments were always tongue in cheek. I'm pretty sure he's pissed at the way the club is being run...

Did well enough when he came on last night and so pleased he got his goal.

Love how he's always got that grin on his face - makes him look a bit of a psycho and you know someone will be on the end of an iffy challenge sometime soon!

I think the finish isnt getting the praise it deserves, it was taken beautifully to give the keeper no chance, it went into the side netting perfectly. Its a goal he should score, but it wasnt the easy finish it looks like initially.

I was more impressed by how easily he decked Eric.

Think we need to start having a serious conversation about this lad now.

I know he's had an injury, but I have to be honest he's disappointed me in every game I've seen him play in now, even the friendlies. Just looks way out of his depth.

Needs to drastically improve, because at this point I don't even mind Maresca playing with the false 9 given his performancces.

He has a build where people think he's some sort of battering ram, but he has none of the football ability to do the job properly. His touch is bad, he never looks like he has control of the ball, but what annoys me most is that he lacks football intelligence at this level. All he does is push players about, but that's not good enough. You need to contest for the ball, move better, go and beat the defender to the header, trap the ball, hold it up and wait for support or quickly move it out to the wing, but he lacks all of the quality and especially awareness to do this. Another thing that is poor is off the ball. There was a moment where James won two headers, and an intelligent Premier League striker would have instinctively known that he need to run into the space that James was obviously going to head the ball to, but Delap just stands there and watches. He doesn't see things the way Premier League players should see them.

Delap for me is playing way above his current level. I wasn't impressed by him at Ipswich and I am seeing nothing to suggest he is any better with us. He wasn't just playing for a poor side at Ipswich, he was at the same level himself.

Agree on all points.

Guiu should be getting his minutes, Delap has been pretty average. I really didn’t see the point of bringing him on today.

I think the only reason he is ahead of Guiu in the pecking order is the £30m fee we paid for him vs the £5m we paid for Guiu.

When I watch Guiu I can see a player in there. I can't say the same for Delap at this point, albeit still early days I suppose. I do wish we'd signed Osimhen instead though LOL

Absolutely trash and hasnt shown me anything in terms of hold up play and finishing and linking players, lack of football IQ too as mentioned

i dont wanna say this but id take jackson back over delap right now easily…

For his size, he should be a nightmare for opposition defenders. Instead he looks like someone that's won a competition to play with the pros. Good thing he only cost 30m.
