At this point in their careers, Jackson has shown more, hence is the superior player. He always got over the top criticism. He wasn't great, but he was decent.

But he threw a fit when we signed a 22 year old striker who had one decent season in the PL and a 23 year old no. 9/no. 10 hybrid and wanted to leave, so good riddance. Should have backed himself and fought for his place.

So now let's wait and hope Delap and Pedro (or Emegha) are up to the task of being the no. 9 for a team that wants to challenge for big titles.

I don't know, I've been pretty consistent about him. His general play has always looked well below the standard required. Maybe he will get better, but I didn't even rate Jackson and I think Jackson is currently better than him.

I never thought Delap was better. I actually liked Jackson but could understand why the club had enough. But Delap is very young, acclimatising to a new team and he will need time. But Jackson defo had a better start to his Chelsea career. But again, way too early for people to write him off imo.

Delap was awful tonight, very reminiscent of Lukaku at his worst, but then again there aren't many players who came out of this game with any credit barring maybe Neto and Garnacho.

For me, just enjoy the circus. There are games (many) where he will be absolutely useless, there are game where he can be good contribritor. Hopefully he can improve and be a more rounded CF, he is 22 afterall.

I am not writing him off yet, unlike Joao Pedro and tosin, but I am rather concerned..

Jackson offered more with his off the ball running, pressing, pace, ability to bring others into the game, oh and the occasional goal. Delap looks lost. Needs to sort it out ASAP - he is looking well out of his depth so far.

i wrote him off a while ago, with some saying its too early to judge. So im waiting politely but have to say he doesnt look like a premier league footballer.

However sh*t Delap is, please don't bring back Mr petulance Jackson.

Jackson shouldnt have been allowed to leave until Delap was fully operational.

Realistically neither are the ideal strikers but one thing I will say is Jackson at his worse was more involved in the game than Delap, even if he did miss multiple chances.

I was thinking that Delap needed a run of games. Maybe you're right, what he really needs is a run of being a substitute, but ONLY when the opposition CBs are tired ? (in the 95th minute, if ever)

We've had loads of number 9's who were false. From Robert Fleck and Chris Sutton to Lukaku and ..others ! 😂
