Low cost transfer so low risk but he's not been an upgrade on Jackson.

Managing to downgrade is impressive.

Spent 65m on two "low-risk" options already, then you have Pedro as well. Well over 100m spent and no clear solution for the striker spot.

We'd be no different if we spent 90m on (for example) Oshimen back in the day, with Jackson and Guiu as backups.

Jackson should be leading the line for us still tbh

Its getting tricky for Delap he needs game time which is in short supply for him. However when he gets it he hasnt been able to capitalise fully. Hes shown glimpses but only that. If he doesnt break into the starting 11 soon its gonna be a long old season for him. The next run of games, maybe with the exception of Napoli & Arsenal looks like an opportunity for him - West Ham Wolves Leeds Hull and Burnley. 🤞

On the bright side, we didn't pay 70m+ for Gyokeres or 80m for Sesko.

All those experts who said we should sign Gyokores must be feeling a bit sheepish now, hes abysmal. I said at the time I had no idea what people saw in him.

Everybody got catfished by the absolute derth of quality CF’s not called Haaland or Kane.

And fooled, again, by goals in a ropey league. How anyone believed Gyokeres could turn from a good Championship striker into a 70m+ striker in the space of a season or so is beyond me.

Needs to work on his anticipation in this system, and too often is flat footed to the movement or pass, just leaning for the ball. The needless pushing is exhausting also - how about start making an impact by scoring.

Our system, and tight spaces, doesn't play to his strengths, But he needs to do more otherwise see him joining the loan army next season.

LOL at us celebrating ... because we only wasted £30m instead of £70m or £80m ... 😂

Next stop Emegha, Satpaev and Quenda ...

Next season will be a mess. Despite how brutal Delap looks, Emegha is even worse. Only had 1 solitary season in Ligue 1 where he has scored 10+ league goals, so has no business playing for a top PL team. He has also been injured since November, and arguably the 2nd choice No 9 behind Panichelli. Won’t be surprised if he is loaned right out to a PL team. You then have Guiu, who should have been loaned out this Jan to a Palace or a Wolves but is just left rotting on our bench. We will most likely lose Mhueka in the summer, he has outgrown our youth and has 1yr left. Should have been loaned out this Jan to a Middlesbrough, Ipswich, Millwall who are all lacking top 9, or even Lamps Coventry who are low on numbers.

Big picture is last year’s UEFA sanctions regarding breaching UEFA’s earnings and squad cost rules might still be in place next window. We might need to sell/loan out Guiu to accommodate Emegha, one of Gittens/Garnacho will definitely need to leave to make space for Quenda, and Sapatev might be sent to Strasbourg to replace the loaned out Paez. Not even going to get into the mess at CB with Anselminho, Sarr and potentially Jacquet’s futures needing to be resolved.

Sadly he’s championship levell quality, he’s simply not good enough needs moving on in summer same as most of the forward line . We have had some bad transfer windows but the summer signings we just made might top the list terrible. How do these sporting directors keep there jobs ?

I'd rather have Jackson back over Delap, so that says a lot.

Delap just literally jogs around, had no intensity to his game, can barely jump to win a ball.

Unless he improves dramatically, he has reached his ceiling in terms of what he can (or can't) do.

Just remember we also still own Jackson, whose value has dropped significantly at Bayern, 3 league goals, and who are unlikely to sign him permanently. We will be lucky to get £30m in the summer.

3 league goals in 400 minutes

3G/A in 200 mins in CL

His value hasn’t dropped, hes got a better return than any of our attackers

i think the queue of potential suitors from a top league might be shorter than a short thing if we were to attempt to sell him.

He hasnt affected the game in a positive way in the matches i have seen. He needs to find a spark with opportunities to play against Wolves Leeds Hull and Burnley on the horizon, its a crucial period for Liam.

He has Olise a world class winge, Diaz & Gnabry who aren’t shabby supplying him in a quite dodgy league. Our attackers have to make do with Neto, Gitten & Garnacho.

14 PL goals in a season being supplied by Sterling, Gallagher and Mudryk btw
