I’m no stat expert, but it would be interesting to know which sides these goals and assists came against and at what stage of the games.

With there being so few goals, there’s a big difference in my mind between a solo effort winner in a 2-1 away win to Dortmund as opposed to the seventh goal that deflected in off someone’s arse from four yards out in the last minute against a bottom three side at home.

But either way, it doesn’t sound like Kompany sees fit to use him very much. Still probably a better option for us than Delap - unless you include training ground/changing room attitude. A couple of extra goals could easily be countered by a negative effect on teammates.

Neither of them work for us because neither of them have a brain - you can see the same problem at the back - if they have a brain they can fit in and do what's asked - if they haven't they cannot. Most mid fielders come with a brain so not too many problems there...

We need a striker that can read the game, anticipate where the ball will be played etc. problem is those guys are normally expensive.

This is another example of people seeming to forget. Everyone hates all our players apart from those from the academy, or injured (or loaned) for so long they’ve forgotten that they hated them.

Saying Jackson is the answer to Delap not being very good is like saying a fire guard made of ice cream will improve on the one made of chocolate. And the only reason the Germans aren’t using the ice cream fire guard is because they have another one made of graphite.

He hasnt affected the game in a positive way in the matches i have seen. He needs to find a spark with opportunities to play against Wolves Leeds Hull and Burnley on the horizon, its a crucial period for Liam.

He will be fine.. he is 21 - Because of this stupid Blueco transfer policy we are looking at every 21 year old to start and bang for us.. in years gone by he would be a third choice for us not a starter..

the fact we have to rely on him and are heaping undue pressure on him is on blueco not him- though he did choose to come here..

If you said replace Delap with Calvert-Lewin, Welbeck, Mateta or Solanke it would make a lot more sense.
