Chelsea vs Morecambe (FAC) Sat 11th January 25 15:00 GMT

Some seasons I've only missed the odd League Cup game and it still blows my mind how few matches are broadcast in the UK. Now we get the women games as well. 😇

I would have agreed with this but Felix is not a true wide left winger meaning the left back would be expected to provide the overlap for width (which is not Veiga's game).

Maybe against Morecambe we can get away with it, but a systems coach like Maresca is probably obsessed with training and playing "the right way" and I think one of Guiu, Nkunku or Felix won't start (unless we get a traditional left wingback like Chilwell in).

Also if it's true Casadei is nearly out the door, the club may choose not to risk him last minute.

                          Jorgensen

James  Acheampong Diasi Gusto

                     Lavia       veiga

Noni             Nkunku          Felix

                       Guiu

if Lavia is not fit? then Rak-Sakyi,

Casadei wont play as he is the only one definitely on his way, Disasi is in the shop window along with Veiga

Looks like Felix alongside Lavia in midfield the way they have it listed on the club's website. Nkunku in #10.

Assume it's effectively going to this most of the time though

I'm going with James inverting as Veiga is the only left footer in the back line, so is logically a better option at LCB

Chelsea: Jorgensen; James (c), Disasi, Tosin, Veiga; Lavia, Joao Felix; Neto, Nkunku, George; Guiu

Substitutes: Sanchez, Gusto, Acheampong, Colwill, Cucurella, Fernandez, Palmer, Sancho, Jackson

That's a stronger line up than any of our conference league games. Lol

Looks like Acheampong for James (maybe Gusto) and Enzo for Lavia are pre planned subs as I doubt they play 90 minutes.

Yes that makes sense.

Listed as a 4-2-3-1 on the website, but I imagine it will be 3-2-4-1 for most of the game, with Felix pushing up alongside Nkunku and James inverting.

Really hope George gets a goal today to calm him down a bit, he’s been trying to force it a bit much in the conference league thus far.
Silly to not have Rak-Sakyi or Dyer at least on the bench today but I guess Maresca feels the first team squad need a positive experience - which is always the situation this time of year it seems

I read somewhere that Lampard is interested in taking Rak-Sakyi on loan at Coventry, so that might be why he is not involved today ?
