January 14Jan 14 Seems a promising talent but isn't his best position on the left wing? Are we signing another winger and hoping they can make it up top?Â
January 14Jan 14 Bayern fans seem to think highly of him so must be a good sign. 54 minutes ago, Ukraine Bolt said: Seems a promising talent but isn't his best position on the left wing? Can't imagine they had any good strikers.Â

So is this a bit like the Duran situation? Where its a good striker we could get for a bargain but probably isn't as rated mainly because of who is ahead of him for play time currently. Certainly prefer this to Delap looking at him on Youtube.
January 14Jan 14 When i saw him play, i thought he played wide left keeping Sane out of the side. Then Sane's form picked up
January 14Jan 14 Never heard of him, doesn't seem a natural goal scorer like nkunku though, would rather keep nkunku and give him a run in the team guarenteed goals.Â
January 14Jan 14 I want to put a massive caveat that (obviously) football manager is NOT real life (before someone points out the obvious) But putting the two into FM I got this (attached) Both a of similar ability in game (though the game is out of date and there will have been progression), with Tel having a quite a bit higher potential Both are kind of similar in profile, Delap is a few cms taller and a bit stronger. Tel is like a year or two younger. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathys_Tel https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liam_Delap I absolutely would NOT be basing a decision on wikipedia pages or Football Manager, but it does give you a bit of an idea of their profiles.
January 14Jan 14 Young, with limited playing data at the top level. Most of us don't know much about him. For that reason we are probably likely to sign him. Then no doubt he will be moving on within 18 months.

I bet Callum Hudson Odoi wishes he'd moved instead of rotting on Chelsea's bench and Musiala probably wouldn't have gottan the playing time here to prove himself that he did over there.
January 16Jan 16 Not sure I like the idea of another young wide attacker who doesn't have good goal scoring stats. We need someone who is going to score goals, not another Sancho or Sterling.Â

January 20Jan 20 Tel has scored 16 goals and 7 assists in 2,402 minutes for Bayern. That's a goal contribution every 104 minutes, why are we pretending like he's a really poor goal scorer? Liam Delap that every seems sold on has a goal contribution every 162 minutes, with 2 of those being penalties. Every 206 minutes without penalties. Every 225 minutes for Hull. Every 440 minutes for Stoke and every 616 minutes for PNE. Or on average every 242 minutes. If we're taking a risk on either, Tel should be first choice without a doubt.Â

He will just be another option for Maresca to bring on at the 75th min. For the rumoured fee needs to be a player that moves the needle, and either benches Sancho/Jackson. I’d rather keep our powder dry till the summer and give those 15mins to Tyrique George.

January 26Jan 26 Bayern, reportedly in an effort to convince Tel to move here, have given him 0 minutes in their last 3 matches. Apparently they want Nkunku, have agreed wages for him but can only make that happen if we buy Tel first. Some reports say of we get Tel then we dont go for Garnacho so, from that point of view, maybe is a good signing. Bit he is not a striker, more a Kalou type better as a wide forward.
