January 30, 20251 yr I can see why he’s reluctant to join us. At the time Nkunku joined us, he was one of the best attackers there is, coming from Bundesliga. Look at him now.
January 30, 20251 yr Honestly, with our very clear strategy of hoarding youngsters I can't see why any of them would choose us - unless they get garanties of playing time.

Not sure why anyone in the level of this sport would be guaranteed of playtime. Nkunku or Tel. I would personally see players with humility and willingness to risk personal goals to teams objectives.
January 30, 20251 yr I have a sneaky feeling he might end up at Spurs. They can give him game time guarantees as they are phasing out Son, They can also Bergvall & Gray as testament of their commitment to giving young players regular minutes. He doesn’t need to be playing for a title winning team at this point, just needs stability and regular minutes for his development

We won't sign a goal keeper, a centre back, or a striker, and we will weaken the midfield 🙂

So you would leave a company to join a rival firm that already employed 5 people in the same role as you and also had a further three seconded out to other departments, with none of these having gained a promotion or increase in status?
January 30, 20251 yr Reports on the player's side he is waiting for United and Arsenal to make an approach.
January 30, 20251 yr I actually think he prefers Spurs over us bizarrely. We seem to be way down the pecking order in his eyes. I can almost see us just paying way over the odds for Garnacho last day of the window and getting nobody else we desperately need. While Man Utd use that money to actually strengthen their team.
January 30, 20251 yr Agreement reached with Spurs, 60m. Time to bite the bullet and fork out for Gyokeres.
January 30, 20251 yr Not being funny but if he was actually worth 60mil he would be playing a lot more for Bayern. I'm not too bothered with didn't sign him.
January 30, 20251 yr Sounds like the price may be 50mill. If he picks Spurs over us is that enough to convince people we are heading in to the mire?

His real price is probably about £35m; Issue is that is the cost of doing business in Jan and especially 4 days till the end of the window. Utd’s price for Garnacho has also magically gone up to €90m, and my fear is our lot will initiate a swap with Nkunku for him before the window ends. Personally would rather we just try integrating George, and buy in the summer market.
January 30, 20251 yr How far we have fallen, a player prefers to go to Tottenham over us, the owners need to wake up
January 30, 20251 yr As depressing as it sounds, I would rather not overpay on another average kid and just wait until the summer to get a striker. Top 4 has pretty much gone now with the form we’re in. January signings hardly ever work out anyway.
January 30, 20251 yr Forward I'd never heard of, signs for club that no-one takes seriously, from club where he wasn't playing and hadn't scored this season, for a huge fee. Sounds like a bullet well dodged to me 🙂

January 30, 20251 yr Probably not, still does not come much of a bigger insult than being turned down to Spurs. ---‐------------------------------ Clearlake Out.
January 30, 20251 yr Who the f**k cares. We've got enough sh*t youngsters we've massively overpaid for. Don't need to do it again. Maybe he'll be a world beater in a few years, maybe not. But if he is, he won't stay at Spurs for long.
January 30, 20251 yr People keep talking about this guy as if he's a striker. He plays left hand side. With the only links for us being this kid, Garnacho or Gittens, why are these Director bellends fixated on another left winger cos Mudryk is getting banned. Fcker wasn't playing anyway. Anything other than genuine players that can strengthen the spine of this side, whether a keeper, a CB, cover for Lavia, or a striker is a complete waste of effort and money. Even if we shelled ot 50m for this unproven kid, and even if he turned out to be decent, it still wouldn't work in this environment, not when the spine is so fragile.

Surely Tyrique George can cover for Mudryk, and if he can't then why they hell did they go to all that trouble to promote him to the first team squad !!!

Said this one before as well and as controversial as it might sound, Ben bloody Chilwell can play left wing. He played well enough getting forward as a LWB, that I would say as a converted LW he could be perfect in Maresca's system being able to double back and cover if Cucurella pushed on into midfield. Still this Maresca yes man has already dug that hole for himself.
