This fixture takes me back to the early 2000s.

Of course Chelsea and Leeds have a much deeper, personal history with each other dating back to the 1970 FA Cup final. As that is a bit before my time though it was those early 2000s that stood out.

Some nasty pieces of work in that Leeds side. Lee Bowyer being the pick of them. Some real quality as well, like Viduka, Keane, Rio and Kewell.

Some proper battles.

Now they pulled our pants down at Elland Road last time out, and we looked like lame ducks, especially Tosin.

Need to set that straight at home. All the big guns and no mercy, please.

I think LR will have a better understanding of this fixture than Maresca did. Dreadful team selection and performance at Elland Road back in December with the silver lining being that was a big nail in Maresca's coffin.

Hope this is why James has been rested so he is fully fit for this game and will help us inflict some revenge.

Santos available?

Answering my own question.

  • Santos is ready according to Rosenior. Just a swollen ankle that he managed to work off during training.

  • Reece 50/50. Still ill.

  • Lavia back training with the group. (Lord knows for how long).

  • Yet again calling Acheampong a great talent and sees him as a long term CB, yet only gets backup minutes at RB so Gusto can get a rest. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.

Clearly our strongest 11 (in the absence of Colwill) and only Acheampong & Lavia to be considered without weaking the side too much.

Back in the day, before rotation and player management, this team pretty much picks itself every week.

Wait what? I thought he said Reece had a knock and was managing his pain. Was it that and now he is sick?

Hopefully Reece plays, go full strength.

Sanchez

James

Acheampong

Chalobah

Cucurella

Caicedo

Santos

Estevao

Palmer

Enzo

Joao Pedro

If Reece is out, or cannot last the 90, put Fofana at CB and move Josh to RB.

Either way play Josh.
