June 11Jun 11 I don't think the so called slap was a red card and I don't think the one for Mexico was either. I can forgive the red card given to Mexico though. Playing the slap in slow motion is always going to look worse than full speed. The Mexico defender knew what he was doing though, he took out the South African player because he was going to pass for a tap in. He wasn't the last man, but I still think he stopped a goal scoring opportunity. Edited June 11Jun 11 by Scott Harris
June 13Jun 13 Team USA are fit and fast and confident and playing as a team and they are all putting in lots of effort. Poch is a good manager for their fitness and willingness.

They were never going to recover 3 goals and really the score should be 6 or 7 …Still Canada earned a point…

June 13Jun 13 The USA game: The US team were pumped up – as they always are – but this time they were playing in front of 70,000 Californians – including all the stars and the tech blokes (so many tedious famous people in the crowd) AND not only were they pumped but they were playing Poch ball which as you know - it is all about lots of running off the ball and they were doing as they were told. They were making all the runs. Lots of running off the ball. You get ‘water breaks’ and 5 subs and so if your team is super fit – and USA are super fit - you can see how this works. Poch ball is perfect for them. What the US team lack in technical ability and general footballing ability doesn’t matter as much. Confidence off the roof – they are Americans . . .they are not going to "choke" or doubt themselves. They are making lots of runs all the time and they play as a team. They are not a great team, but they are playing at their best and playing a style of football - Poch ball - that really suits them and the occasion.
