  1. They'll have to cut out a few voulez-vous for the English version. I'm currently watching "28 Days Later" for the first time, and it's halfway through. My prediction is that a Yank like Matthew McConaughey or Will Smith will arrive in SW6 with a either a vaccine or a neutron bomb, eliminate all the zombies, and London will return to its former glory. Spurs will be immune, leading to their humane disposal.
  2. Hard to take this seriously, coming from a journalist who spelled the manager's name wrong both times he wrote it.
  3. "So, I’ll miss my friend, his sax, the force of nature his sound was, his glory, his foolishness, his accomplishments, his face, his hands, his humor, his skin, his noise, his confusion, his power, his peace. But his love and his story, the story that he gave me, that he whispered in my ear, that he allowed me to tell… and that he gave to you… is gonna carry on. I’m no mystic, but the undertow, the mystery and power of Clarence and my friendship leads me to believe we must have stood together in other, older times, along other rivers, in other cities, in other fields, doing our modest version of god’s work… work that’s still unfinished. So I won’t say goodbye to my brother, I’ll simply say, see you in the next life, further on up the road, where we will once again pick up that work, and get it done." - Bruce Springsteen
  4. Steven Van Zandt of the E Street Band has this cool weekly radio show called the Underground Garage, and he paid tribute to fallen bandmate Clarence Clemons last Sunday. Sweet and sad, he told of how Bruce felt the band needed a sax player, like so many of his influences (think '50s). Dominant tenor sax and soulful vocals, the E Street Band won't be the same without The Big Man. Last time I saw them, they did this touching song, and the middle is all Clarence:

It's a real Jackass to die behind the wheel while drunk driving. But Ryan Dunn had a 30 year-old passenger named Zachary who was also killed. So instead of Mr. Dunn, I'll think of the families affected and then say something nice about Peter Falk or Clarence Clemons instead.
  6. A little late, but I think it's Alan Sneddon (Celtic and Hibernian, 1981)
  7. Yeah D, thiat song was the wakeup music for the Mars Exploration Rover mission. Lauren, my condolences for your family's loss. Thankfully his music lives on
  8. Welcome Flyrr100! I am from Florida, but now reside in Ohio where the winters are bigger and the bugs are smaller. I'm qute sure you're going to enjoy this site, and it's good to have you aboard.
  9. Congrats Arq, you should have a voice in deciding this hiring. Surely Mad_Mac and Randy36 have a match for the Europa bid
  10. My choice would be Owen Coyle. His animation during matches and blatant devotion is inspirational.

Have to say that I thought this was the right move, and the right time for it. Like most have said, Carlo is an honorable man that we could all be proud of, and last season's trophies might have earned him more time. But he was so inflexiible with line-ups and formation. That is fine if we're handling our business, but the 2 month long "bad moment" cried out for adjustments that never came. Our midfield was hit by injury and generally crap all season, so where were the minutes for McEachran? Yeah, sure the manager knows plenty from training that we don't, but Josh was terrific when he was given the chance to play. Carlo seemed to love some of the lads like sons (especially Frank), which makes me admire him, but I don't want that kind of devotion from the manager. Service from the middle was never resolved, so best tol lay it at the feet of the manager. I've had the same arc of opinion on this as Hutch, who concluded that this move needed to be made at the same time as me. And Carlo didn't seem to be undermined toward the end, so the people calliing the club "classless" can f**k off. Onward and upward
  12. I just saw this film about a month ago, by accident on late night TV. About to fall asleep when it started, this story shook me so hard that I watched the entire show, spellbound. Peter Lorre is a German child abductor/murderer and the film revolves around the manhunt. Political, public and media hysteria are all jacked up to a frenzy. Fritz Lang;'s direction in 1931 set a template for the "catch the murderer before he strikes again" movie theme, which can easily be seen in Hitchcock's work, especially the creative camera angles. Five stars, highly recommended. Thanks, The Moos for reminding me about this gem.
  13. Sure the ladies here will welcome an 18 year-old Australian Phallus.
  14. Ruh Buh Juh, if we make a move for Fabregas, you will be known (at least by me) as the sultan of all signing rumors. And even if it doesn't happen, this is still a very cool thread. Looking forward to seeing some pictures, and congratulations on your win
  15. Well you picked the right place Kiwi Luke, welcome aboard.
  16. Bran the Man for me, I wish everyone had his spirit. Petr Cech with an honorable mention, because he was immense as well
  17. Damn Loz, I'm very sorry to hear this. All the best wishes to you and your family...
  18. Can't believe I've been put in a position to root for Wenger and Co.
  19. " I was defending against Nico, but as I was the last defender and the referee thought I fouled him, dismissing me is normal. If I let Nico run towards goal then he scores the second one and it is over, so we can say it is a good foul. I sacrificed myself."
  20. I'm all ready for the next actor to play Bond, and I'd recommend Clive Owen,
  21. This song has been rattling around my head for months now. Tim Armstrong, lead guy from Rancid, formed this band http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jzko4ZrmEqE
  22. Welcome Jako, next state neighbor here (Cleveland). This is definitely the right place for Chelsea fans!
  23. Florent Malouda for me, brace in a 3-1 win will do it every time. Much respect to Mod, who has been his staunchest supporter around here.
  24. Harm a Gnome is okay, but I'll go for Mor Ham an Eg
