  1. Young men not used to being told "no". For all their hard work and dedication to football there's definitely downsides to the way these guys are nurtured.
  2. By credible do you mean copy and pastes what actual journalists write?
  3. I just don't see him being given any minutes all the time that Lukaku, Havertz and Werner are here. Rightly or wrongly, given that we've invested over £200m on those three players means that Tuchel is going to be asked to make it work. Abraham had a better strike rate than the current forwards and he was still moved on and is scoring freely for Roma too. The amount of goals scored away from Chelsea doesn't really seem to matter to the club.
  4. Depends whether there is a buy back clause or first option on any future sale. Like it or not we're stacked for options in attack at the moment and there is no clear path into the first team for Broja right now. So profit of £25m now in a year where we made financial loses despite winning the European Cup. Pair that with the profit in sales made during the summer despite buying Lukaku for just shy of £100m and it's good business from a FFP stand point. Means we go into next summer in the black and would presumably be in a strong position financially to spend. Especially when there's a very real posibility of needing to recruit possibly two central defenders should Rudiger and Christensen leave on free transfers and us needing better cover for RB/RWB.
  5. Why are you using goal conversion rates for last season and what is the reason for picking out those three players? Top goal scorers last season in the Premier League were: Harry Kane - 23 goals, 16.8% Mo Salaha - 22 goals, 17.5% Bruno Fernandes - 18 goals, 14.9% Son Heung-Min - 17 goals, 25% Patrick Bamford - 17 goals, 15.9% So of last seasons top 5 goal scorers only one player had a better conversion ratio in the league than Abraham. Also worth noting that Abraham had the highest conversion ratio in the league of all of Chelsea's attacking players last season.
  6. Yup, it is indeed the place. But immediately after a game we've just won? The threads of players who played well and did their part were without posts but others were quick to rush to have whinge about Lukaku. Just don't understand why chewing out a player takes precedence in the immediate after winning a contested win.
  7. When someone's first thought is to have a moan about a player after a good team performance against Spurs, I'm sorry but that's just sad. Enjoy the moment, especially after a rough couple of months in the league. To each their own though I suppose.
  8. Tell that to Japan. They're not letting barely anyone into the country regardless of vaxination status including residents of the country.
  9. I think Kepa has done really well in Mendy's absence. His confidence no longer looks completely shot and it's good to see that he's providing decent competition for Mendy.
  10. Big improvement from Mason last night. Looked dangerous throughout the game. I quite like when he plays a little deeper, I think he's energy and aggression works well in the midfield and sometimes we don't get the full benefit of that when he's high up the pitch.
  11. 30 appearances, 17 goals and 4 assists in all competitions for Tammy this season. 22 appearances, 10 goals and 3 assists in the League. Really happy for him that's he's having a good season for Roma. Personally, I still think he was harshly treated by Tuchel who, for whatever reason, just didn't seem to like him as a player.
  12. Looks like he could be the answer to the left back position if we're going to keep playing a back four rather than just signing somebody in the hope that they can cover Alonso.
  13. Thought he played well today, looked a lot more willing to take his man on and he really should do that more often because when he does he can open up so much space.
  14. I've been one of his bigger critics but that was a really good performance today. Quality of his delivery was so much better, looked a goal threat and was working hard off the ball too. Hopefully we see a lot more of these performances.
  15. Just beat Spurs and people still want to whinge about Lukaku? Christ....
  16. I'm surprised he hasn't had much time playing on the left because he looked quite good there last season. Apparently he suffered pretty badly when he caught Covid so that might account for his reduced playing time recently. Wouldn't mind seeing us experiment for a game or two with a front three of Werner - Havertz - Lukaku Wouldn't off a lot of natural width but could off some problems with the size and pace of the players.
  17. Would depend on the fee that Barca are asking for but if he's available for say £30m and the wage demands aren't too high you could definately see the club taking a punt on him, especailly if Tuchel wants him. Given how poor our attacking players have been this season I really don't think you coud rule it out.
  18. Conte has got Spurs playing with an an energy and self belief that we're sorely lacking right now. There's a very real possibility that they're going to overtake us with their games in hand. Sunday is a massive game for us and hopefully Tuchel can begin to turn it all around but anything less than a win will be a disaster.
  19. If that's our central defensive options next season we're in big trouble.
  20. So what happens come the end of the season if Azpi, Rudiger and Christensen all leave out of contract? The team is in a pretty bad place right now and the uncertainty over the futures of so many key players can't be helping. The squad is bloated with players not even close to being first team regulars on big wages that we have little to no hope to shifting elsewhere. From the hope and promise we had going into this season as European champions we're once again in real danger of completely imploding.
  21. Of the 30 points available from the ten league games played since the beginning of December we've earned 14. 3 wins in 10. Put simply that's just not good enough.
  22. Looking increasingly likely that he might be leaving. Bayern and Barca are said to both be interested in signing him. Will be a big loss if he goes, hopefully we can still resolve the contract issue.
  23. That World XI is ridiculous Lewandowski, Ronaldo, Messi and Haaland as a front 4 is some school playground type team selection.
  24. I'd take an out of form Hazard over all of our current forwards.
  25. Got skinned for pace by Sterling within the first 7 minutes of the game and so he hauled him down and got booked so for the rest of the match was trying to avoid touching anyone. Sterling pulled him inside out quite often after that which put a lot more responsibility onto Sarr to cover. Outside of the front 3 he was probably the worst of the rest in my opinion. If we do bring in another left wing back this month I wouldn't be surprised if they displace Alonso as first choice for the remainder of the seaosn.
