January 17, 20224 yr Just seen that our un vaccinated players may not be allowed to play in France under their new covid rules. I don't know which our team this involves but it might seriously affect our chances. Blimey , what next ?

Can they really force people to do that? And what if they have just had Covid and have antibodies. They don't recommend having an injection for at least six weeks after catching Covid..

January 18, 20224 yr The whole fiasco with covid and postponements and now this is down to greed and lbh us lot who want to watch Chelsea play. The best thing would of been to shut it all down period until it was safe to play. But that will never happen so more bullsh*t like this is going to occur.
January 18, 20224 yr Frenchie here. Sorry, our government is on one trying to look hard to woo the authoritarians who get off on nonsense like this before the elections in two months. - It's hardly like having an un vaxxed player on the pitch makes one iota of difference to the average citizen. It's all getting a bit silly.
January 18, 20224 yr If you think France is bad, take a look at my home country (Australia). We just deported Novak Djokovic.
January 18, 20224 yr Unvaccinated AND vaccinated get covid, unvaccinated AND vaccinated pass on covid. Its all bullsh*t control and a complete farce. Putting those rules in place makes very little difference to anything other than segregation and forcing players and clubs to comply, probably against their will. If the Djokovic situation leaks into football like that, it’s going to be a bad situation.

I do agree with the vaccine/test mandate in some areas but this is too far.
January 18, 20224 yr Author surely daily testing should negate the risk ? Anyway the , unvaccinated make up up the majority of hospitalised patients in our hospitals so I guess any m measure to prevent spread is good mind you, at the Bridge we have to show our vaccine status, but there's no way the check is meaningful, stewards don't have time to verify that the pass applies to the person showing it. Add that to the crush in pubs , transport , the toilets and the concourse , picking out unvaccinated players as high risk is nonsense A good friend of mine passed away from the virus, so I'm always wary of becoming complacent about it, Lets hope we can get over it eventually and enjoy being together without fear or worry .

It's a funny old world, I saw my hairdresser last week who is in his mid 20's. He said he had a few health scares after his second jab with heart palpitations though the emergency services wouldn't comment on that. Twice in a month he has been at emergency service with heart discomfort and says he won't have another jab as he believes that caused it.

Sometimes you don't know what's for the best do you ? Anyway, let's hope the team can cheer us up tonight , take care
January 18, 20224 yr Supposedly UEFA are not keen on enforcing these rules as it could set a precedent for future tournaments. So who knows? We might even see Lille forced to play their home leg in another country. Certainly we saw that happen before with European games last season.

Apparently that has changed, the Uefa president is said to be now very much in favour of the and we will be expected to complie with the rules set by the French government. Some reports say between players and coaches roughly 40% of ours are not double vaxed and will miss the game, have read Kante is apparently one due to his prior health concerns. Would be an advantage for Lille, our progress may not look so great after all.

Kante understandably has been cautious with his health, but what about the others? Rule are rules, and they would apply in other aspects of life. I don't think footballers should be treated any differently.

Which makes you wonder what will happen for the next France home game.

Pro athletes travel the whole world, playing against athletes from literally every other country in the world, so they are basically potential superspreaders. It´s their free choice to not get vaxxed. They simply have to live with the consequences of not being able to do their job. If you need a car to get to your job, and you don´t think the government should be allowed to mandate that you wear a seatbelt, while operating your own vehicle; that´s well within your rights. It also means you are not allowed to operate a vehicle, hence you can´t get to your job, and you can´t work. There is no difference, except seatbelts are socially accepted measures of public and individual health/safety, whereas vaccines are not. Societies set rules to function. Big whoop. Otherwise we´d life in anarchy and if your neighbour wanted your TV, he can just kill you, because it´s his freedom of choice to rather get yours than order one from Amazon.
January 23, 20224 yr No problem with it at all. However I can't believe we have many unvaxxed, we've not had a game postponed which leads me to believe we've never had too many self isolating due to close contact, which is a requirement for the unvaxxed and not the vaxxed. I don't think Kante would.be affected as he's french anyhow. Countries don't ban their citizens from returning home due to vaccination status...that doesn't sound right.

Yeah friend of mine had to wait an extra 18months to get in to Japan from Canada for their JET teacher program.
