April 11, 201412 yr I think you mean 44 inch chest! It is an amazing film! John Hurt, Ray Winstone, Ian McShane and Tom Wilkinson - all superb!
April 14, 201412 yr I watched Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom at the weekend. Really charming and fun film with a fantastic cast including Bill Murray, Bruce Willis and Edward Norton. Well worth a watch if you want something to smile at and just escape for 90 minutes. 8/10 Also watched animated version of Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns Part 1. I'm a huge Batman fan and TDKR is one of my favourite comics so was curious what DC had done with it in animation. There was a couple of things I didn't agree with the adaptation, mostly the removal of the internal monologue which is one of the best parts of the book but overall it's a pretty faithful adaptation and worth a watch if you're a fan of the book or even just Batman. 7/10
April 14, 201412 yr I've not seen Moonrise Kingdom yet but it's definitely one I want to watch along with The Grand Budapest Hotel. I've watched all the rest of Wes Anderson's films and enjoyed them all, especially Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums.

I've watched all the rest of Wes Anderson's films and enjoyed them all, especially Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums. I've never watched any of his films before, it's only that The Grand Budapest Hotel got me curious I thought I'd have a look what else he had done, me and the wife were looking for something to watch and I thought Moonrise Kingdom looked a nice Saturday night film to watch. I'll definitely be checking out some of his other stuff now though.

It's an adaptation of the famous Roald Dahl book but it's too good to leave for the kids. The voice acting and animation are great and I enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting to.
April 14, 201412 yr I can vouch for Fantastic Mr Fox, great film. Like you guys I've started looking back through Wes Anderson films after seeing The Grand Budapest Hotel. Netflix has a fair few. I watched The Royal Tenebaums this evening and Rushmore will be next. Not sure Moonrise Kingdom is on there but that's on my watch list too.
April 15, 201412 yr Sexy Beast. Watched it with my bro for the 50th time. Fantastic film, might stick 40 inch chest on later! John Hurt in that film is legendary. Sexy Beast is an amazing movie, didnt like 44 inch chest though, didnt really get it Edited April 15, 201412 yr by Zola
April 21, 201412 yr The Iceman. Good film about a mob hitman. Well worth a watch. I've read the book, which is chilling, does the film do it justice?
April 21, 201412 yr I am just home from seeing an incredible Polish film called IDA. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2718492/ Have you seen it, Maksimov?
April 21, 201412 yr I've read the book, which is chilling, does the film do it justice? Not read the book so I've no idea how the two compare. Thought the film was quite watchable though. Sometimes you can find that a film released based on a book can be a bit of a let down. Might have a read of that one myself though. Michael Shannon, also in man of steell, plays the hit man Kuklinski.

Sometimes you can find that a film released based on a book can be a bit of a let down. Might have a read of that one myself though. Michael Shannon, also in man of steell, plays the hit man Kuklinski. It's a true story & if Kuklinski did half the things he confessed to, then he was a very sick man!
April 22, 201412 yr I am just home from seeing an incredible Polish film called IDA. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2718492/ Have you seen it, Maksimov? No, I've been very busy lately so I haven't been able to watch as many movies as I'd like to. I'll put it on my "to see"-list, though. The last one I've seen was Inside Llewyn Davis, which was pretty good. Not your typical Coen brothers movie, but I enjoyed it.
April 23, 201412 yr saving mr banks...what a really nice film...emma thompson was brilliant in it...i liked it
April 24, 201412 yr Watched Northwest Passage last night. A classic film. Made in 1940 and starring Spencer Tracy and Robert Young. Based on the book by Kenneth Roberts and set in the American Colonies and Canada during the 1750s and is based on the true story of Rogers Rangers and their part in the wars involving the American Colonists, British, French and Native Indians. There was going to be a sequel to the film. I think the reason there wasn't was due to Spencer Tracy not being interested. Film historians amongst you, is that correct? When the American Military were looking for a name for a force equivalent to the British Commandoes in World War 2 they chose the name Rangers affer Rogers Rangers.
April 30, 201412 yr The Rite. Anthony Hopkins film. Watched it a couple of times now. Don't think it got major credits, but I love the characters he plays.
May 4, 201412 yr Finally watched 'Jack Reacher' it was ok as a film, but not as an interpretation of the books.
May 4, 201412 yr 'Warrior' About two brothers who are fighters. Alco dad, MMA tournament. Pretty good 7/10
May 4, 201412 yr Saw bad neighbours last night. Wasn't expecting it to be that good but was pleasantly surprised, it had a lot of laughs throughout and has got some good reviews as well.
