I'm also off to see Dr Strange today too. Although technically at this point the last film I watched was this: Can never go wrong with this. Hopefully the remake with Jason Momoa don't push through.
November 11, 20169 yr hacksaw ridge 8.7/10 the best war film since saving private ryan, sure mel gibson's a bit cucko in the head but damn he's a good director
November 14, 20169 yr Nobu and the Two Strings Great family film, very charming, very funny even if the title of the film is essentially a massive spoiler. 10 Cloverfield Lane Great, tense and well acted. Ruined by a sh*tty ending. Hell or High Water Really good heist movie. Good cast. Worth a watch A Few Good Men Neverseen it before. A lot more cheesy than I was expecting. Nicholson chews the scenery in every scene he's in.
November 14, 20169 yr Reservoir Dogs One of my all time favourite films. I'm educating my gf by making her watch classic films she hasn't seen. Apart from the scene where Mr Blonde gets "creative" with a razor and a police officer, she liked it, especially the soundtrack. 10/10
November 14, 20169 yr The Arrival - Great, intelligent science fiction. A bunch of massive, weird looking alien spacecrafts suddenly appear in various locations around the world causing everybody to freak out. A linguist and a scientist are called upon to try and communicate with the alien lifeforms and find out what they want. An interesting, thought provoking story that focuses on the inevitable conflict between the base human instinct to automatically perceive the unknown as a threat, and the more civilised need to understand and empathise.
November 15, 20169 yr Not a movie as such but rather a film documentary. Dear Zachary - A Letter to a Son About His Father It's from 2008 but I had never heard of it before but it was on the top list of documentaries so gave it a go and while it was brutal it was one of those ones you can't stop thinking about after you have watched it.
November 15, 20169 yr Creepshow Creepshow 2 Can't seem to shake off the old school horror watching at the moment. Although Christmas has already crept its way in, me and the wife watched Four Christmasses on Sat.
November 15, 20169 yr Hands of Stone Story about the life of boxer Roberto Duran and his fights against Sugar Ray Leonard. Not the best boxing film around by any means but worth a view. 6.5/10

November 16, 20169 yr Anybody here who didn't like Doctor Strange? So formulaic. Visuals are on another level but the story offered nothing new.

November 29, 20169 yr Boyhood Filmed over the course of 12 years with the same actors, Richard Linklater's film chronicles the life of Mason from the ages of 5-17. We watch him go through school, drink his first beer, his relationship with his family and the angst of being a teenager in the noughties. Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette are excellent as his divorced parents, and although there isn't a story as such, it's amazing to see how much work has gone into making this. It's very relateable, especially for millennials. 8/10
December 1, 20169 yr Reading through this thread I'm surprised I haven't seen ""The big short" pop up. Just watched it and thought it was brilliant. I'm not a big movie guy though, but I really thought it was great. They did such a good job of explaining such a difficult subject (it's about the bank crisis). Has anyone seen it?

I enjoyed it very much. They explained the complexities of the financial markets brilliantly, dumbed down to the point of delight.
December 5, 20169 yr Watched Star Trek: Beyond over the weekend. It wasn't bad. I don't usually advocate for movies being longer but another 5 min of footage would have been nice to fill in some of the holes in the plot.
December 5, 20169 yr Sully, a bit like a drama /documentary telling the story of the plane crash landing on the Hudson and the aftermath. Worth a watch 7/10

December 10, 20169 yr The Accountant with Ben Afflick 6/10 Enjoyed Hacksaw Ridge, a good war film based on a true story. 7.5/10
December 10, 20169 yr hell or high water 8/10 from the writer of sicario and the director of starred up, even in today's hollywood full of reboots and comic book movies, nothing can beat a simple western drama, so good
