I really enjoyed 'Man of Steel'. where as BVS, had I saw it at the cinema, I probably would have left early.

I loved BvS aswell but the Ultimate Edition is far better as it fills in a lot of the blanks. I much prefer the DC films yo Marvel myself, I enjoy the Marvel films but they're all too similar at least DC take risks. The thing about BvS is it was always intended to be the darkest chapter of what is essentially a trilogy with MOS, BvS and Justice League. I'm a comic book nerd so I can enjoy these films on another level to most. Comic book characters etc are my favourite thing in the world, over anything.

A Field In England - A trippy and unnerving psychological horror. Set during the English Civil War, a bunch of deserters wander off from a battle and are taken prisoner by a psychopathic alchemist, who forces them to help him look for treasure that he believes is buried somewhere in the field. Directed by Ben Wheatley (Kill List, High Rise, etc), it's filmed in black and white and has some great imagery. Parts of the film don't make much sense from a modern perspective but apparently that's because it was written based on the unscientific folk law and superstitions of the time. I enjoyed it a lot, definitely one of the most interesting films I've seen for a while, and it also made me laugh more than any recent comedy films have managed.

Lights Out 6/10

Not a bad film but certainly not good either, unfortunately a great concept was just a jump scare film. Which was enjoyable for the ride but those kinds if films have no rewatch value if the villain isn't interesting. I don't mi d characters doing dumb things in horror films aswell but when they're scared, then not scared etc I do have an issue

Bad Moms - I don't expert boys to get it but it was very enjoyable and surprisingly funny. After films like Bad Neighbours being dubbed comedies I was starting to lose faith that a film listed as a comedy would ever be funny again... but this was. 7.5/10.

Batman v Superman 5/10 Martha why did you say that name.. Enough said.

Star wars force awakens 7/10 Pretty much a rip off of the original trilogy.. Added a bratty looking teenager as the villain and a bigger death star of sorts.. Also the whole Thing about Rey randomly discovering she has jedi powers half way through was ridiculous.

Strongly rumoured to become TV series, together with Series 3+4 of Gomorrah confirmed by Hollywood Reporter – winter TV looking good

Suburra looks interesting, I love a good gangster movie.

Saw 'Mr Nobody' the other night. It's about an old guy who's about to die and just happens to be last mortal human left alive (ageing has been 'cured'), and as he's laying on his death bed he recounts his life story to a journalist. However, for some reason he's able to remember multiple time lines where his life changed direction as a result of a few critical moments. It's very confusing but it's very well done, and it's good to see a film taking on high concepts such as multiple universes and chaos theory.

I watched two films yesterday Mulholland Drive and Mr Nobody.

It got me thinking, I really dislike films that go with the "what do you think happened" style.

Both films have a narrative that's so loose and open to interpretation that I just found them frustrating.

Tell me your story don't leave it up to me to decipher a narrative from the film equivalent of a drunken ramble.

Watched The Secret Life of Pets.

Pretty mediocre, abandoned its central concept 10 minutes in and became yet another unlikely-buddies road trip movie. I don't get why these films have so little faith in their core concepts that they always seem to ignore the central idea behind the film and settle into the usual forumula. Inside out did the same thing, I was hoping for a film about emotions controlling the life of a kid, instead after 10 minutes it became a road trip movie.
