KAlou for me. Most creative of our front men and beat AMscherano time and time again.

Very competent all round team performance - I wouldn't say great as we didn't play all that well but at this time of the season who cares about that - result is everything. Nonbody superb, nobody awful - that will do me.

Kalou for me too. He still makes a few of his trademark f**k-ups, but still a great performance, and he seems to have stopped his blind-alley running. Genuinely dangerous.

kalou was causing chaos today, would also like to give a notable mention to gerrard, fantastic ball. Finally got an assist to his name for a goal that all but seals the league.

same here. i was very surprised at that "kalou back to his usual self" crack in the match thread. he looked lively and threatening throughout. forget the penalty call (debatable) a few minutes earlier he was clear through on goal when a free kick was given against him for an imaginary foul, and in the second half his best moment was when he cut in from the left, beat several liverpool players and put the ball across the face of the goal only for anelka to fail to make significant contact.

Kalou played well in the second half but in the first he was just Kalou as we know him for me the team looked nervous today but its all about the result today well done a win is a win the mom should be S.G that pass to Drogba was world class thanks mate ::clap2::.One more game to go ;) :5569:

Can see why many voted for Kalou, gave Mascherano the run around which is always good to see. I voted for Nico on the other side who I thought did a fantastic job all day. His work ethic was only equalled by Kalou and he was particularly important after we got the lead, holding the ball up and doing well creating that option for us to keep the ball in midfield.

Furthermore, I thought he looked more dangerous going forward than he has pretty much all year. Was unlucky on a couple of occasions, particularly when Kyrgiakos cleared off his foot in the first half. The assist just topped it off for me.

Could be a number of players, I'm very tempted to go for Kalou (or Anelka, or Cole, or Ivan, or most other players to be honest) but Lampard was probably our most effective player going forward (Kalou beat Mascherano so many times but often not much came of it) and broke up play excellently in defence too.

;)

I went for Alex. Didn't put a foot wrong, per usual, and, critically, bailed out JT when he made a huge mistake, alas also per usual, to allow Babel on goal.

I was tempted to give it to Kalou, who was certainly lively, but, again per usual, his end product was missing. Even his best would-be assist to Anelka was so ridiculously overhit it negated all the excellent work he had done to get to that position.

Overall, a decent performance, but vast patches of indifferent play in the first half. Defense, however, was rock solid.

Lampard, Kalou and Alex all very worthy. Went with Kalou, looked very threatening.

Also, who knew Joe Cole's mum was a member here? seriously, a vote for joe Cole?

Has to be Steven Gerrard.

No one even close. Kalou was the usual mix of Charlie Cooke and Frank Spencer. Mostly Frank Spencer when it came to the final ball.

But Gerrard, when it mattered, didn't disappoint with a slide rule pass to Drogba.

Brilliant. :)

Thought our back four were solid , Kalou was outstanding at times , been our best player the last 2 games , well done Carlo for keeping faith in him.

Kalou, Thought at first it was a waste not having Malouda attacking Masherano but Sol did admirably, well done to the boy for the secong game in a row.

Begrudgingly picked Kalou. No one else stood out and he did play well. However while he wasn't the "old" Kalou he was still a lot of sizzle and not a lot of steak.

It's a fair point - I may not have worded that as clearly as I should have. While he played very well, Kalou had the opportunity to do a few really special things in this match but he couldn't put the final touches on them. I'm not begrudging him as much as I am everyone else because no one else really stood out for me. I don't like to reward attacking players for being dangerous or creating chances, for me it's more about their production. Everyone else was rather bland today (save for Alex who had a few nice moments, Lampard and Drogba who scored, and Gerrard with his lovely through ball :D )

So Kalou was the best player on the park in your opinion but you grudge picking him as MOTM. Seems a bit churlish to me. He outplayed every player on the park today and fully deserves the award - why grudge him it?

not sure about that...up against a player out of position and failed to deliver the killer ball despite being in a number of great opportunities...also made too much of the slightest contact to win fk's and pens', when he should have stayed on his feet
