Well, crap game today overall and nothing really happened in our attack. Was good to see Luiz get his debut and have to say I was impressed even though he was not on for very long.

We are going to have to live with this defeat for awhile now and it will be sickening....

John Terry MotM for me.

Hate voting on days like today. Normally go for cech in these situations but i think he was massively at fault for the goal (as were a couple others mind you). Went for Ivan though because i think he was trying and the old cliche of showing quite a bit of passion today. But poor poor performance all round.

I didn't see Ashley doing much wrong, so him. I think Bosingwa was the one to blame for the goal. He was so far away from where he should have been.

No-one deserves it, they were all a disgrace. But if I had to pick, then Anelka was slightly less sh*t than everyone else.

Cech - In no mans land for the goal and poor kicking throughout the match. 6.0

Bosingwa - Should be Ivanovic's backup from now on. 5.5

Ivanovic - A couple of half chances from corners that he could have done better on. Should have gotten a penalty. Partly at fault for the goal. 6.0

Terry - One of our best players today.7.0

Cole - Solid. 7.0

Mikel - Pointless today as Liverpool didn't really play an attacking lineup. 5.5

Essien - Takes ages on the ball these days. Poor passing throughout the match 5.0

Lampard - Clearly isn't match fit. Tried to influence the game but failed. 5.5

Anelka - Back to the old Anelka after that faultless performance midweek. 5.5

Drogba - Was double marked throughout the match. Made a good run early on in the match but Torres went for glory instead of sliding him in for an easy finish. 6.0

Torres - Woeful. Shouldn't have started. Will clearly take some time to get in tune with his new teammates 5.5

Malouda - Didn't do much when he came on. 6.0

Kalou - Unlucky to be dropped for Torres. Good movement during his time on the ptich. 6.0

David Luiz - Looks like a class player. Should start with Terry against Fulham. 7.0

Manager: Don't understand the logic in a manager changing a winning team. Takes ages to change the game with substitutions. 4.0

Motm: Ashley Cole

Motm: JT

No stand out player for me although I thought in a crowded area Anelka done as near as he could to what he was asked to do.

Easy after the game to question the manager in starting Torres (I wouldn't have) but if he hadn't and the result was the same can you imagine the stick he'd have got then?

Crap day but I'd rather have our players/Manager than Liverpools and we'll win more than they will.

I have to agree with that comment, the team played well in midweek and deserved to start today. It felt like Carlo had to play Torres just because we had spent big on him. the sooner players earn their positions by good performances the better.

We bottled it today all round. Terry was culpable for the goal as anyone, he Cech and Ivan were standing on top of each other and noone played the ball. Given JT was not as culpable as Cech I've no idea what he was doing.

I agree with Plokoon and Gilkvorak. Carlo pandered today by picking Torres and it was the wrong call particularly given Liverpool's shape.

Closest to MOM was Anelka for me who faced with a wall of Liverpool players, was the only one who looked as though he might open them up. Not many to pick from of course though plenty put their hand up for Worst on Ground.

Did you click on the Vote button in the poll? just out of interest as Anelka was on 5 when I voted for him earlier.

And I wonder what would be said had Carlo not pandered and we lost 0-1 with a 50 milion pound striker on the bench? Carlo just can't win can he...

Hands up who voted for Drogba?

Mine went to Luiz, showed some class when he came on, & tough in the tackle too.

Either JT or Ashley Cole, went for Cole because I recalled a couple times when Terry took it upon himself to become the playmaker and lost the ball. Cole lost the ball a couple of times as well, but I think that's bound to happen when you make those bombarding runs forward; he seriously does not know the meaning of the word tired. Terry on the other hand lost the ball a couple of times in silly circumstances. To be clear though, that's not to take anything away from his performance today; that's just why I feel Cole edged him for MOTM.

I don't think any Chelsea player could in all honestly claim to be man of the match, even in the Chelsea team. However,Jt tried as always, plus even though he was ineffective in the match ,Lamps showed real comittment in the tackle.I guess with the benefit of hindsight,(what GOOD is that?),we should have kept the same as the Sunderland match and brought Torres off the bench when the score was right. However,to end on a positive note,Luiz did look a real player in the making and when all the Torres hype has died down and the team formation is settled,we will be a formidable side.

Good to have a bit of optimism at the end there. Lets catch the goons for second place, thats my target now. Not impossible in this topsy turvy season, although tough given the respective fixture lists

That was our biggest loss of the season and a bitter pill to swallow.

A tip of the hat to Daglish as he tactically outwitted Carlo. The diamond didn't work.

Lampard, Essien and Drogba were most disappointing. They need to be rested for the next game.

Torres had little training with the team and he looked lost. He should not be faulted.

Luiz was a breath of fresh air for the short time he came on the pitch. I expect him to start in the next game with Bran moved to right back.

Also for the game against Fulham I'd like to see Malouda, Torres and Anelka up front.

There are better days ahead!

6+ hours after the end and I'm still gutted. All kinds of questions running through my head. It's the loss and the fact that it just seemed like there was no desire.

This one hurt me bad. :(
