Another sub standard performance by the team and the manager. Actually maybe we should stop conisdering it sub standard as surely after playing that badly for such an extended period of time you get to a point where that is the normal standard.

Ramires the only player I can even consider for MOTM today.

Ivan played well, but in the end he was at fault.

I actually thought we pressed them well from the 2nd half onwards. Sadly the only player who was getting into positions didn't have his best shooting boots on (even though he scored).

Despite it being a crap performance I have to vote for Ramires. He's the only one who's actually playing well at the moment.

Who would have thought a few months ago that Ramires would be the shining star at Chelsea?

Thought Ferreira did his bit really well and actually looked up for it although Ramires did well again and have to admit i never saw him being the player he is now but Ferreira just nicks it

Wow, I voted Paolo too, and I didn't even cheat to see how other voted. I think he did a great job, and a couple of times bailed us out due to bad passes on the part of Ivan.

For the first time, I think Ivan was our goat of the match, due to his terrible foul to have committed in the 124th minute, and due to his lacklustre play up till then.

Games like that suck the life and spirit out of you.

Anyway, Paulo cant really be faulted today so he gets it.

Lampard for me,scored, got a save from Howard and looked the most likely to score, but still a long way from his best.Thought Ivanovic,( untill the free kick) had a good game as well as Ramires.

Voted Terry. No-one stood out though. Ramires started brightly, but then faded away in the middle of the game. Ferreira was okay, some decent crosses. Not much to choose from really.

A very strange match. We were average in the first half and much better in the second half and extra time. But we still looked very short on confidence and tried to force things too much.

Everton were never at the races and our defence for the most part looked very solid. The equaliser was just one of those things. Nothing could be done to stop it, other than not conceding the free kick in the first place.

Taken in isolation I'd just say the gods weren't on our side today, but after nearly four months of bad form and bad luck it has to be more than that.

We have lost that invincibility. That ability to win when not playing well, to hang in when the going gets tough. Now the late goal is expected. It is happening all too often.

Something needs to change and I fear it must be the manager.

Voted JT as MoTM.

Paulo for me, thought he done really well considering his lack of games lately.

This for me too, and all the unjust stick the guy gets

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who saw Ferreira's solid effort. And considering he plays second fiddle to Bosingwa (mistake IMO) and thus gets little match time. I can't even remember when he was last on the pitch - when Lampard and Terry were injured? And he was captain? (bad memory perhaps).

I'm incredibly dissapointed at the result, of course. Actually, truth is I am well annoyed any time a team that plays terrible football like Everton beats us.

Played well:

Ferreira

Ramires

JT

Played very average:

Cech (reason for this is - I just can't believe we didn't have a player on either side of the goal for the free kick. It may not have helped I admit, but it may have and I feel the set piece defending is Cech & Terry's responsibility, and it would have been wise. We all knew he was gonna smash it into a corner so why bother man marking? I'm curious to all your thoughts on this too)

Ivanovic - silly mistake to give the late free kick

Cole - not even considering the penalty I just didn't think he had his usual standard attack-wsie, but of course this may have been because he felt he couldn't leave his defense duties due to other players not covering him.

Drogba - I'm sure his antics at the start would have been discussed in the match thread. I'm not sure if he was serious/fkaing/playing mind games, but once he got into the game he did create a few chances. No where near where he should be, though.

Poor:

Everyone else (truth is I can't recall Mikel's performance, and I can't really base it on Carlo swapping him for Essien as we can surely all agree that it seems Carlo's substitutions are not reactive and this may very well have been pre-ordained even if Mikel was playing brilliantly).

I thought Mikel was having a pretty good game. Essien did nothing in the second half so unless there's an injury another pointless substition.

We all see things differently don't we. I thought it was the exact opposite, that Mikel was poor, and when Essien came on, we started to play better.

I'd add Kalou and Essien to the played average bunch.
