If Alonsos main system was a 4231 MGW would be a good addition to play alongside Palmer and Rogers.

With us being a back 3 team now though MGW would end up as a sub most likely. He cannot play in the pivot alongside Caicedo, neither could Palmer or Rogers. He would give us our best sub option for Palmer or Rogers I feel, but I don't see why he moves for that.

We ideally need 2 midfielder rather than adding to the attack. If it is Kone then so be it, but we need to get Camara over the line as well.

The fact Caicedo being injured has meant relying on Lavias legs not giving out and pairing him with Reece and Gusto is a huge red flag. We need 2 actual center midfielder Imo

Gittens to Roma

Gibbs-White (or another top flexible AM) to Chelsea

I'd me more than happy with this, although it's pretty unlikely Forest would consider selling MGW this late in the window.

Kone is more physical than Camara and would bring more steel to the midfield.

Camara seems more technical though so I'm not sure what the hell we're doing...

We need options in midfield. End of. It was apparent at the end of last season, and it's more apparent now.

Saw a stat that Gusto and Lavia only completed 20 passes against Brighton.

Our midfield as it stands is w**k. Caicedo out for who knows how long, Enzo likely f**king off to City, old man Henderson who is injured, Lavia who is probably moments away from another injury, Barco who is untested at this level, James who isn't a midfielder and is another injury waiting to happen.

The way I see it is that we currently don't have a midfield. We have been sitting on this problem all summer when it should have been a priority.

If we mess this up and sign nobody, it brings our transfer window down to a 3 or 4 for me, just because it will absolutely destroy our season. Fulham and Brighton were a disaster off the ball in these first two games, our front 3 being in great form saved us big time. It's only a matter of time before we get comprehensively beaten and go on a run of poor results if we don't sort this out.

It’s such a glaring issue that it genuinely drags our entire window from a 9/10 down to a 6/10.

Lavia is walking straight back into the same cycle — looking like a future superstar for a few flashes, then breaking down and disappearing until the new year. I am not having Reece James or Malo Gusto as constants in midfield. f**k THAT.

I agree with you both. We hobble Alonso and the team if we Mess this up.

Means we either have a very good or a very bad day tomorrow.

Travesty if its not addressed given that we've just spent another 40m on a defender who it seems is straight through the revolving loan door.
